The Afro hip-pop artiste whose most recent release was in September is back at it again and has officially kicked off the year with the drop of his new single titled ‘Trouble‘.
The song which features long time collaborator and producer, Xela (Repete, Wonder) serves as the first offering from his upcoming “7 Love Letters” project, a seven track EP he plans to release in a few weeks. Pleasantly so, the new track is exactly what fans been waiting for and it sounds like an absolute appetizer for what’s to come.
The best thing about this song is how Blackmagic is able to show off his range and display his abilities in full view thanks to wonderful production work from Xela.
The duo keep finding ways of ingeniously fusing afrobeat with contemporary hip-pop rhythm and here they were quarterbacked beautifully by the amazing vocals of Myst who delivered her hook to perfection (quite a catchy hook too). The result is one of the best songs you’ll listen to this year and one that will have you singing along in no time.
With new singles due off the Love Session Project, it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more of Blackmagic, and hopefully he’ll continue to capture our attention with his well… magical music.
Enjoy!

The aircraft was to convey 105 passengers from Lagos to Abuja.
The airline’s spokesman, Christian Iwarah who confirmed the incident, said no serious damage was done to the aircraft and no passenger was injured.
He said:“The incident happened around 11am as the aircraft was about to take off. The pilot immediately turned around and the passengers were disembarked.
“Another aircraft was provided for them and I can confirm to you that they arrived in Abuja safely a few hours ago.”
Reacting to the incident, the General Manager, Public Relations, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Sam Adurogboye, said he was yet to confirm if the incident had been filed with the regulatory authority.

JTE GIST: My Focus at this Point is my Son and Business, not Marriage – Juliet Ibrahim
Juliet and her ex husband Kwadwo Safo separated in 2014, and finalised their divorce later that year.
“It is interesting you ask about wedding bells. I have always said that my focus at this point is my son and business. Creating a balance between being a successful business woman and a good mother is a lot to handle and that is my focus,” she said.
On her current project
I’ve been busy working and tending to new ventures along with constant re-organising of some of the brands I recently put out into the market place such as my cosmetics line. I have been quite busy but I am fortunate to be in this position where I am living my dreams.

Olamide threatens artistes: ”Mock me and face the wrath of the Street
YBNL henchman, Olamide Adedeji, aka Badoo, has issued a warning to artistes who intend to mock him with their songs. He threatened that if such happens, his goons and minions on the streets would deliver jungle justice on the artiste on his behalf.
The self-styled king of the streets who once threatened to deal with Mavin CEO if he ventured coming to the mainland after throwing jabs at him at the 2015 edition of the prestigious Headies awards, says if anyone chooses to mock him in a song, he Wouldnt have to reply but such persons should be ready to face the wrath of the streets.
He claims to be too busy to get involved in confrontational music with his fellow entertainers, saying all he wants to achieve is to churn out good music for his fans and lovers of good music.
“I just want to make music, I want to make good music; I want to motivate people, I want to support people, I want to see people achieve their dreams and their goals, that’s what I’m all about not all about trying to make another man look like he is not trying or he is not good.
Nobody is the best, Oluwa ni best, Oluwa ni champion, everybody is just trying, you know what I mean? If anyone disses me its fine, the street is going to get them, the street is going to get them for real.
I don’t even need to call anybody for them, those wey go do diss track for them go diss them back, them go reply them, me I no go reply anybody because people know I don’t have time for that. At the end of the day, my own prayer na just to make everybody dey successful and make everybody flourish, maybe if Jayz diss me now I go reply”, he mused.

Matters of the heart: My ex has invited me to his wedding, can I go? I’m not over him!
It’s happening in a week, and I have spent a great time thinking about this in the past one month since I got the ‘special’ invite to my ex’ wedding.
Quadriplegic and I dated happily for five years. We were the perfect couple. We met long before we started dating so officially we have known each other for eight years.
We went to the same university but studied different courses.
Our relationship was smooth but there was one dark cloud; our religious beliefs.
Quadri and I had different beliefs, I am a Christian and he, a Muslim. As much as it would not really gave mattered to me, it mattered clearly to my clergy parents who named me Esther!
For five years, I held on to the belief that things would work out but it didn’t.
My parents did not agree. The day I introduced Quadri to them was the saddest day of my life. They rejected him without saying the words.
He mentioned his name to them and my mother asked “oh, you are a convert?” Quadri replied that he wasn’t a convert and my mom just left the living room, my dad stayed but said nothing.
Things went haywire after then, his late to also asked if I was willing to be a Muslim…
To cut it short… Nothing worked after then, we found fault with each other, quarreled and blamed each other. But the truth is we were rely in love.
We decided to end it.
We ended it six months ago only for Quadri to call me last month to tell me he would like for us to see. I live him.
I did not say no. To my greatest surprise and shock, he gave me a special invite to his wedding ceremony.
READ Matters of the heart: One lonely night and the crazy choice...
I opened the card with a shaking hand and saw that Quadri was marrying one Ruth! Another Christian…
“Quadri, Ruth?”
I asked and he smiled as he told me her parents had no problem with their marriage.
I was sad. I have not even started dating since we broke up and here he was getting married.
I still love him.
He has called me everyday since then, reminding me to come to his wedding.
I would make his day complete…
I have never attended an ex’ wedding. Would it be advisable to go? Considering that I’m still madly in love with Quadri.

When the only shot you ever took was in your buns!
And I saw Meek at All-Star; he told me your ass dropped
He couldn’t fuck you for three months, because your ass dropped
Now I don’t think y’all understand how bad her ass got
The implants that she had put in her ass popped!
I was like, “Damn, 90 days and you couldn’t have box?
Did she at least compensate?, start giving you mad top?
Her name Minaj, right? She ain’t throw you some bad thots?”
He said “Nah,” that’s when I knew you was really a trash bop
You was screaming “Free Remy” when I was upstate doomed
But now that they freed Remy, you don’t sing the same tune!
Locked me up, threw away my keys, threw away my weaves
Snatched me from my son, braids to the back, state greens
Daily News, “Her Career’s Over,” “She Was Kinda Stupid,”
But you saw a opportunity ’cause you a opportunist!
Left your Day 1 ’cause you heard he was on some cheat shit

That’s Hannah Montana, she was always happy!
You only fronted on Mariah ’cause Mariah don’t carry
Tried to disrespect Taylor ’cause Taylor wasn’t Swift

And usually I have sympathy for the impaired
But not when you hard to hear me from untreated
gonorrhea
But you point your fingers at me?
I?m the bad girl and she the one out here misleading the black girls
All these fake asses influenced by that girl
Dying from body surgeries, what a sad world
But before the butt job, you was a Spongebob
Sucking cock for records, captain of the cum squad
And I got a few words for the moms of the young Barbz
Guess who supports a child molester? Nicki Minaj
You paid for your brother?s wedding? That?s hella foul
How you spend money to support a pedophile?
He a walking dead man, sending threats to him
I guess that?s why they call you Barbie, you was next to Ken
Talkin? ?bout your money long and your foreign sick
Why you ain?t help your bro hide his come from [?]
You probably somewhere overseas, foreign sick
Thought you could fuck with me, by far Rem sick

See The Number Of Youths That Will Be Gainfully Employed By The End Of The Year
The Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is laying a solid foundation for the future generation through his leadership style.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Lawal, who spoke at a roundtable with top government officials in Owerri on Saturday, said that by no fewer than one million youth will be gainfully employed by year end.
The SGF was in Owerri on Friday where he was conferred with a Fellowship at the 5th Convocation of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
He said Buhari’s administration was not witch-hunting anybody, but wanted to ensure that impunity and corruption were eradicated in the country.
Lawal said the Federal Government had already engaged over 30,000 youths through its numerous programmes and job creation, adding that one million youths would be gainfully employed before the end of
2017 .
He said the president inherited a lot of challenges ranging from insecurity to corruption, adding that the situation needed support and patience to fix the economy.
He said that everybody must join hand to rediscover the nation and to put it back to where it rightfully belong.
He said, “We have commenced a new journey of rapid and sustainable economic growth that will usher us prosperity despite all the challenges.
“Our economy should have been among the strongest in the world if not for the high level of corruption which is more evident in key sectors like education and health care delivery.”
The SGF said the administration had recorded huge success since it started the fight against corruption and had prosecuted many public office holders.
He added that the Whistleblowing policy had helped the administration recovered millions of naira from corrupt Nigerians, adding that the huge sum would be reinvested to boost the economy.
Lawal said that government was aware of the pains Nigerians were passing through. He assured that government was doing everything possible to address it.
“This government has introduced diversification policy and very soon we will begin to witness changes as we have witnessed in
rice and wheat production,” he said.
Gov. Rochas Okorocha said that this was not the time for Nigerians to weep or complain in the struggle for nationhood, but a time to comply.
According to him, Nigeria must write the history of this recession, just like other advanced nation did in their own struggle to greatness.
Okorocha further said Buhari’s main job was not to build skyscrapers but to lay a solid foundation for other successors to build.
He said Nigerians should continue to pray for the president as his emergence was divine and the purpose must be fulfilled.
Okrocha also admonished youths to de-emphasize the search for civil service jobs, but to see agriculture as the fastest means to create wealth.

Multi-award winning Nigerian indegenous rapper of Yoruba decent, Olamide Adedeji popularly known as Olamide Baddo , has last Saturday at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, won ‘The Sun Creative Personality of the Year award’ and described it as one of the greatest things to happen to his career.
The afro hip-hop superstar who won alongside Azubuike Chibuzo Nelson, also known as Phyno, said he would forever be grateful to the newspaper for the honour bestowed on him.
He was quoted as saying:-
“I feel very honoured, humbled and grateful to be recognised as The Sun Creative Personality of the Year. For someone like me coming from the ghetto, from nothing to something, to be recognised by an institution like The Sun, that also honours big politicians and big businessmen and women in the country; for me to be on the same platform with them, is a big deal. May God bless The Sun newspapers.
“Yes, this is the very first time that a major newspaper like The Sun would be giving me an award and I’m grateful. It goes a long way for a newspaper like The Sun to recognise me; you see my talent and you blow it out to the world, that for real, this guy is good; it goes a long way.
“I have been seeing The Sun right from when I was young; my daddy used to buy it. And for musicians like us to be recognised like this is not common.”
For a man who is familiar with The Sun, which column or pull out in the newspaper is his favourite? His response: “Most times I go to the business pages before anything else. I read the business pages first because I want to know what’s going in the business sector in our country. I’m more a businessman than a musician.”
Only recently, Olamide released his sixth studio album entitled, The Glory. But what actually inspired the 16-tracker and how is it doing in the music market?
He explained:-
“The Glory is doing very well, great as expected. Big shout out to all the fans that have been supporting me. The album actually made it to number six on the Billboard chart. It’s the very first Nigerian album to make it to Top 10 of the Billboard chart, and you know it can only be God.
“And God is greater than everyone of us. Because some people refuse to acknowledge and give glory to God when they get to where they prayed for, they get carried away and all that. I am trying to be an exemption; I’m trying to let the ghetto kids know it is not because I’m skillful or whatever, it’s because of God’s grace.
“I want the ghetto kids to believe in God. If someone like me from the ghetto of Bariga (in Lagos) can make it with the support of God and good people that believe in me, I believe anyone can also achieve success. Yes, the album is called ‘The Glory’ because it’s high time I let people know that God has been great and wonderful in my life.”
Famously known as Baddo by his numerous fans across the country, many will wonder how Olamide came about the nickname. And is he such a ‘bad guy’ that he’s nicknamed ‘ Baddo ’?
“I got the nickname from the street. People have been calling me that name right from the time I was in school. But then, I am not a bad guy. It’s just a nickname,” the musician said with a boisterous laughter.
Mavin Records founder, Don Jazzy, and technology company Tsaboin on Friday launched Flobyt, a free WiFi service.
Flobyt is an easy-to-use WiFi service which has been installed across several locations in
Lagos .
Some of these locations include eateries, parks, taxis, buses, restaurants, and cafés, Dele Odufuye, Tsaboin MD/CEO, revealed during the launch in Ikeja, Lagos.
The service, he said, was designed to replicate the home WiFi experience when people are out and about.
At the specified locations, between 10-30 people can be connected to Flobyt at the same time while in locations with higher traffic, Flobyt Max can provide internet service to 10 – 80 concurrent users.

Before You Think Of Taking Heavy Marijuana (Weed), Guys Read This!
Medical experts have warned against heavy marijuana usage as there is a growing occurrence of a rare illness that causes vomiting and abdominal pain among users.
The number of reported cases of cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS), also known as cyclical vomiting syndrome, are low compared with the overall number of marijuana users.
“When the decriminalization of medical marijuana occurred and the number of medical (marijuana) licenses in some
US states went up dramatically, we started seeing more and more cases of young, otherwise healthy people who would have multiple recurrent episodes of severe abdominal pain and vomiting and often end up in the
emergency room,” said Kennon Heard, chief of medical toxicology for the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora.
“If you talk to anyone who practices emergency medicine in the state of Colorado, they’re going to tell you they’ve seen this and they see it fairly frequently, and we see it in our emergency department on a daily or weekly basis.”
According to a study, CHS was first discovered in 2004 in Australia, where drug laws are liberal and physicians saw more heavy users of marijuana having bouts of vomiting and abdominal pain that lasted for years. All had been daily marijuana smokers for multiple years and quitting made the symptoms go away.
Only a small percentage of marijuana users had CHS. The Australian study consisted of just nine patients, and Heard’s study identified 36 people with the illness.
Heard says it often takes several hospital visits to confirm it because patients aren’t always open about their marijuana use.
The other major challenge for physicians is that nobody understands how or why marijuana use leads to vomiting or how much marijuana use causes the syndrome.
Heard says long-term use of high-grade marijuana may lead to changes in a system in the body that helps regulate the gastrointestinal tract.
Experts say that users who developed the syndrome had been smoking for years. But there has been nothing found to indicate why some users have CHS and others don’t.
Naira Rises Further Against Dollars at Parallel Market (See New Exchange Rate)
It seems the incessant fall of the
Naira against the dollars has subsided as Naira keep rising by the day.
The Nigeria Naira yesterday continued its rise against the dollar as liquidity boost by the Central Bank of Nigeria had forced a crash in the price of the greenback.
In Lagos that the Naira exchanged at N460 to a dollar at the parallel market, gaining 40 points from N500 it recorded on Thursday, the PUNCH reports.
The Pound Sterling and the Euro traded at N575 and N480 respectively.
At the Bureau De Change window, the Naira closed at N399 to a dollar CBN controlled price, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro exchanged at N610 and N520 respectively.
Trading at the interbank window saw the Naira closed at N305.50 to a dollar.
Traders at the market expected the Naira to sell for less than N400 to a dollar if the boost in liquidity by the CBN was sustained.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, the President, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria said that currency speculators were expected to lose billions of Naira to the new forex policy initiated by the CBN.

JTE GIST: Man Sentenced to Death by Hanging for Killing his Wife by Bathing her with Acid
An Ikeja High Court on Thursday sentenced a businessman, Suleiman Olalekan, to death by hanging for killing his 22-year-old wife, Chika Egbo, by bathing her with acid.
Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo sentenced Olalekan to death after finding him guilty of a two-count charge of murder and grievous bodily harm.
Lawal-Akapo, while pronouncing the sentence, said: “The defendant is found guilty of murder, the defendant, Suleiman Olalekan, will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May the Lord have mercy on your soul.”
Olalekan, a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, bowed his head and remained expressionless when the sentence was pronounced on him before a crowded courtroom.
Olalekan’s trial started at the High Court on December 9, 2014.
During the trial, the prosecution led by Adeniji Kazeem, the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, said Olalekan committed the offence on November 5, 2012.
“The accused at 1.35PM on the said day at Bakare Street, Ikotun, a Lagos suburb, allegedly caused the death of Chika Egbo by bathing her with acid. He also caused the grievous bodily harm of one Mr Sunny Daniel, a commercial motorcyclist,” he said.
According to the prosecution, the convict and the deceased got married and had a daughter, who is now four years old.
“The accused and the deceased were having problems in their relationship; the accused lured the deceased who had moved to Enugu back to Lagos under the guise that he wanted her to visit his mother. When she came to Lagos, he and the deceased hailed a commercial motorcycle which was to convey them to his mother’s house. While the motorcycle was on motion, the accused brought out a container of acid and poured it on Egbo’s head,” he said.
According to the prosecution, Suleiman was caught while trying to flee the crime scene by passers-by and sympathisers.
“The attack left Egbo’s head badly disfigured and unrecognisable as well as leaving severe burns on her shoulders, breasts and private parts. Daniel, the commercial motorcyclist, was also grievously injured during the attack and almost lost an eye. Egbo succumbed to her injuries at the Burns Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on December 20, 2014,” Kazeem said.
The offence contravened Sections 221 and 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
Suleiman pleaded not guilty during the trial on November 24, 2016 and said that Egbo got doused in acid during a scuffle between him and her lover at a hotel room.
“On November 5, 2012, a friend informed me that Chika was in a hotel room with a lover. I went to the hotel and knocked on the door and Chika opened the door and a man called Emeka was lying on the bed in the room. A scuffle broke out between me and Emeka; Chika and Emeka brought out acid to pour on me but Chika was injured in the acid attack. Daniel, the motorcyclist, was injured while conveying Chika to the hospital,” he claimed.
But Justice Lawal-Akapo, while pronouncing the verdict, debunked Suleiman’s claims.
“I closely watched the demeanour of the accused while he gave his evidence, he was panting and fidgeting. I believe his testimony was filled with falsehood.
I believe he poured the acid on the deceased which led to her death and the three ingredients of murder have been established.
The defendant put up the defence of provocation and strenuously admitted it in his defence.
However, in his statement to the police when the incident was still fresh in his memory, he did not raise the issue of provocation.
In his confessional statement, he admitted that a battery charger sold the acid to him for N1,500 after he told the battery charger that he needed the acid for an experiment.
A scenario of provocation did not arise while they were in motion on the motorcycle.
He also did not bring up the defence of provocation during his oral testimony,” Lawal-Akapo said.
