INSPIRATION BEHIND “ANIMAL” — DJ SEGXYWIN

I am Oluwasegun Oluwatobiloba Oyedele, a Nigerian multi-talented disc jockey, music producer, and artist, professionally known as Segxywin.

My latest release, “Animal”, was born out of deep concern and reflection on the growing level of insecurity and moral decay in our society. The inspiration comes not only from the menace of banditry and terrorism, but also from the destructive actions of certain powerful individuals, greedy politicians, desperate wealth seekers, and deceptive religious figures hiding under the guise of spirituality.

These realities have made life increasingly unsafe. Families are losing their breadwinners to ritual killings, innocent believers are being misled by false prophets performing staged “miracles,” and many who claim to represent God are instead driven by selfish and evil intentions.

Most heartbreaking of all is the failure of leadership. Those elected to serve the people have, in many cases, reversed the order, placing themselves above the citizens while neglecting their duty to ensure safety, accountability, and national progress. Despite the rising insecurity, little is done to truly address the crisis.

This song is not just a criticism, it is also a call for reflection. I do not claim perfection, but I strongly believe we all have a role to play in rebuilding our society.

The common man must learn contentment and reject shortcuts to wealth.

Religious leaders must return to truth, sincerity, and genuine service to God.

Politicians must embrace transparency, accountability, and prioritize the security and welfare of the people.

“Animal” is a voice for the people, a message, a warning, and a call to change.
