Gov. Fayose tells Ekiti APC lawmakers to stop acting like jesters, dismisses impeachment plot
By Unknown - Saturday, April 04, 2015
Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose responds to impeachment threat from APC members in the State House of Assembly. His statement below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has advised All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the State House of Assembly to stop acting like jesters, saying; "The script being acted by the APC is a failed one because no one, no matter how highly placed will be allowed to test the will of Ekiti people."
The governor, who described the purported impeachment notice posted online by the APC lawmakers as "joke of the century" said; "The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly is Hon Dele Olugbemi and not Dr Adewale Omirin."
In a statement issued on Saturday by the his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said; "Omirin is already in court, challenging his impeachment and common sense dictates that when you are challenging an action already taken in court, you have accepted the consequences of such action pending the determination of the suit you filed."
He said the APC lawmakers should stop advertising their ignorance and crudity in the market place by posting impeachment notice online.
"Since last year November, these so-called lawmakers abdicated their duties and ran to Lagos only for them to resurfaced on Wednesday, but they hurriedly ran away again.
"Now they are posting notice of impeachment signed on March 9, 2015 and Ekiti people are asking; was the motion for impeachment moved and adopted in Lagos or Osun State House of Assembly?
"Is impeachment of a governor done along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway inside a moving bus?
"Rather than going about advertising their ignorance and crudity, the APC lawmakers should wait for the court to adjudicate on the case they filed because even the President-Elect, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) will respect the rule of law when he assumes office," the governor said.

Billionaire, Bola Shagaya has denied reports that she is planning to host Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigeria’s President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to a lavish dinner.
Rumours of the supposed dinner went rife on social media after the UK branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the disclosure.
However, in a statement by her aide, Deji Adeyanju, Ms Shagaya has said that there is no such plan in the offing.
The statement reads:
"Our attention has been drawn to a false and misleading story on the social media that Hajia Bola Shagaya is planning to host a dinner party in honour of Mrs. Aishat Buhari, wife of the winner of the
March 28, 2015, Presidential Election (General Muhammadu Buhari)."
"While we hold Mrs. Buhari in high esteem and commend the victory of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at the poll, we wish to make it categorically clear for the records that this story is totally untrue & a fabrication. Hajia Bola Shagaya has no such plans or has she ever told anyone of such a plan to host Mrs. Buhari. It is purely mischief aimed at misleading Nigerians and disparaging her good name."
"This rumour making the rounds on cyberspace has no iota of truth whatsoever and Hajia Bola Shagaya wishes to draw the attention of Nigerians to this. Hajia Bola Shagaya remains a very close confidant and friend of our amiable First Lady Dr. Dame Patience Jonathan and will continue to offer her invaluable contribution to the nation and always."
"We are also very proud of the heroic act of President Goodluck Jonathan making a great sacrifice to keep the peace of this nation. We urge all Nigerians and all right thinking people to completely disregard such stories. It is false, and conjured out of envy."
"You will recall that this rumour was attributed to the London chapter of All Progressives Congress to perfect this falsehood. All discerning Nigerians can understand why they planted such a story and the mischief behind it. We urge those behind it to desist forthwith."
"We thank all concerned Nigerians who reached out to us to find out the truth. May God continue to bless you and the Federal Republic of Nigeria."
The UK APC had urged Mrs Buhari to shun the invitation of Ms Shagaya, who has been close to many Nigerian First Ladies.

Freeze who is known to say what what's on his mind (whether wrong or not) mentioned the people who strongly supported Goodluck Jonathan's second term bid.
While the presidential election is done and dusted, the victory of General Buhari and the loss of President Goodluck Jonathan is still causing some ripples.
Popular OAP Freeze who works for COOL FM has thrown some pebbles into the pond, stirring some drama on Twitter. Freeze who is known to say what what's on his mind (whether wrong or not) mentioned the people who strongly supported Goodluck Jonathan's second term bid.
The on-air-personality insinuated that these top personalities such as the General Overseer of Winner's Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, and PDP politician Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro erred in publicly endorsing the President. "OBANIKORO who congratulated president Jonathan on his victory? Is he going to congratulate GMB too? What would he say he was thinking?" he tweeted on March 31, 2015.
Freeze took shots at celebrities such as Bovi, Timi Dakolo and Sammie Okposo too. "Nigerian celebs eg Bovi, Sammy Oposo and Timi Dakolo. Are you asking me why???!" read his tweet.
Well Bovi replied Freeze on Twitter yesterday. "@Freeze_Coolfm lol so u took a shot at me over 24 hrs ago and I didn't know. Well that's what happens when u fire blanks!!!" tweeted the popular comedian.
Not wanting to be outdone, the Cool FM presenter has just replied Bovi on the microblogging site. "Olodo, so what finally drew your attention to it?"
