One of the things that destroys marriages is the failure of couples to realize that men and women are different, and may not always behave in similar ways.
Therefore, there are some habits that a husband and wife need to exhibit in order to make their marriage last and avoid unnecessary chaos in the home.
Here are eight tips on the kinds of habits that couples should cultivate if they want their marriage to last long.
- Celebrate each other’s success: Always smile and share exhilaration for each other's achievements, for instance, in response to promotion or salary increase. Couples who share excitement can have satisfying relationships. In addition, a celebration provides an occasion to boost up his/her ego and also to highlight your status as a team.
- Look after yourself: The first thing you need to establish for a successful marriage is to take care of yourself both physically and spiritually. This way, your stress will go completely downhill and your tolerance level can be up. It is just that simple. By doing this, you won't get on each other nerves when you are facing a crisis.
- Get to know your spouse's friends: You may be very close with the few friends you have, but remember to build a rapport with your partner’s buddies as well. The more a couple's friends and family interact, there are chances for a happy relationship between the spouses. The tip for long lasting marriage is to add your spouse in the network of your friends. This will make him/her feel that they are part of your family.
- Don't stop dating: It is always said that the quality of time is what matters and not the quantity of time. Make sure to spend a lot of time together. Try to be together and do things jointly. If you don’t have much time to spend together because of your hectic schedule, then try a fun date at the grocery store. It may not be the perfect romantic getaway but still you can focus on each other, talk and really enjoy being together.
- Revive romance in bed: Staying intimate and passionately connected is the surest thing you can do for a long lasting marriage. Most couples these days suffer from low sex drive and some experts suggest that putting sex back on your radar can help each other to rekindle romance.
- Communicate differently: What most partners don't understand is that people have a tendency to communicate differently. The important tip for everlasting marriage is trying to find ways to help your partner share feelings and try to work out problems together. Try to be a communicator yourself and make it a rule to never let anger last for more than a day. Always make sure you resolve issues before going to bed.
- Engage in humour: Laughing can be the best solution if you’re facing problems and having some crisis. Laughter is the most important way of experiencing joy and exhilaration. It helps to resolve stress and it even tries to enhance the physiological functioning of the body. Try to inject humour in your everyday activities such as sharing some giggles about things that happened during the day or at work. You can even try an out of the blue hug or unexpected peck on the cheek every now and then.
- Give your partner space: Alone time is important. Couple's don't really need to be together all the time. Whenever your partner needs some space, it doesn't mean he doesn’t love you anymore. Spending alone time doesn’t mean that your partner is having problems with you. Most couple prefer personal space at home such as wanting to spend time reading, watching TV or doing some extra work without anyone troubling him/her.

There will be a seventh season of 'The Vampire Diaries', but lead character, Elena Gilbert, will not be returning to show
Imagine 'The Vampire Diaries' without Nina Dobrev who plays Elena Gilbert on show.
Nina announced her exit from the CW drama series on Monday afternoon.
The much loved star will exit the show by the end of the show's sixth season.
"I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party," - She wrote.
"I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six-season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger.
I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there's still so much more to come before the season finale in May. Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I'll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever.
There's more to come before we wrap this up, and I promise you'll get to hear all about my experiences over the next month as we approach the season finale (I have given an exclusive interview for the June issue of SELF Magazine that I am excited for you to see!), but until then I invite you to hop on the roller coaster ride that is Elena Gilbert's life and join me as I celebrate her and prepare to say goodbye to her — and to my work family — as I move on to the next chapter of my life.
I want to share this goodbye with all of you (this weekend's pictures were just the beginning). You, the wonderful fandom who gave more love, support and passion than anyone could have ever imagined seven years ago, when a young Degrassi girl from Canada showed up in LA to audition for 'thatTwilight TV show.' ;-) I love you all. Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what's coming, you don't."
Elena Gilbert's exit comes after the exit of her on-screen brother, Steven R. McQueen.
What will the show be without Elena? Fans would just have to wait for that.

Oba Of Lagos ‘Oba Akiolu is the father of all,’ Chief explains what monarch told Igbos
By Unknown - Tuesday, April 07, 2015
Oba Akiolu became the centre of controversy after he said that any Igbo person who doesn’t vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode would die in the Lagoon.
The Opeluwa of Lagos, Chief Aderibigbe Ajose has attempted to clarify the statement made concerning the Igbos in the state by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.
Oba Akiolu became the centre of controversy after he said that any Igbo person who doesn’t vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode would die in the Lagoon.
Chief Ajose however said, in a statement released on Monday, April 6, that the Oba had only referred to the Lagoon as part of the tradition of Lagos.
The statement reads:
“Last Sunday, all honorary Eze Ndigbos in Lagos paid a courtesy call to HRM Oba Akiolu. At the meeting the visitors praised the Oba for his fatherly support for and cooperation with Igbos in. Lagos. They assured him of their continued good neighborliness with other tribes in Lagos and support everything that’ll further strengthen that harmony.”
“Oba Akiolu, on his part, acknowledged the enviable performance of Governor (Babatunde) Fashola and his contribution to the growth of investments in Lagos.”
“He gave the assurance that he is not disturbed or angry with South-East and South- South votes for President Jonathan as perceived by the Eze Ndigbos. The Obas thereafter called on the Igbos chiefs to show appreciation to Lagos State by supporting his candidate Mr. Ambode for continuity of excellence as they have earlier promised.”
“He assured them of his continued support and assistance where needed and the meeting ended with the traditional breaking of kolas, alligator pepper, and bitter kola and pouring of liberation on the ground.”
“It was within this context that that the tradition of Lagos, with regard to the lagoon, came up. It was noted that whoever works against the throne and the interest and peaceful co-existence of Lagos would end up in the lagoon as per tradition.”
“Oba Akiolu stated further that the Igbo people have not betrayed the throne. Lagos has also not betrayed the Igbo people. Lagos has done so much to make the Igbos comfortable and to prosper. For this, we expect reciprocal respect and understanding.”
“The Oba of Lagos prays that the Lagoon and the throne will continue to bless and protect all those who reside and visit Lagos. Oba Akiolu is the father of all irrespective of tribe, religion or political persuasion.”
The Oba's comments have attracted strong criticism with the PDP accusing him of playing God in the affairs of Lagos State.

After being disfigured in pay back acid attack, Convicted Rapist spared jail time
By Unknown - Tuesday, April 07, 2015
Donny Ray Williams, a former congressional aide and Obama staffer was spared jail time last Friday April 4th after he pleaded guilty to drugging and sexually assaulting two women, including a former intern. He was spared jail time because sometime in 2013, someone attacked him with acid that left him disfigured for life. Guess the court figured he had received enough punishment because many believe the acid attack was a pay back for the rapes, though he claims the boyfriend of a woman he was dating did it to him.
According to reports, Donny Ray Williams, who was once a staffer for the Senate Homeland Security subcommittee, slipped Ambien into the drink of an intern in 2010 before having sex with her while she lay unconscious. That same year, he had sex with a woman too inebriated to give her consent, prosecutors say.
Despite admitting his guilt in December, D.C. prosecutors on Friday asked that Williams be spared prison time because he is himself the victim of a crime - the effects of which will mar the remainder of his life, Washington Post reports.
The decision to give Williams a suspended jail sentence and 5 years probation - which Judge Robert E. Morin reluctantly agreed to - came despite one of his victim's request he be given 'some jail time.'
'He gave me a random dose of drugs and risked my life,' the woman argued in a letter read in D.C. Superior Court last week.
The woman had just moved to Washington as an intern. She initially warmed to Williams because she believed he could help her get a leg up on Capitol Hill.
'After the assault, I moved away, and he continued to harass me and threatened me to drop the charges. This crime has caused me fear, pain and a financial burden,' she wrote.
The other woman Williams raped was not present for the sentencing, during which Judge Morin said Williams 'was a victim of an independent crime and has serious medical issues.'
Williams' own attack occurred in 2013 as he walked down a Washington street.
A man approached him and tossed acid in his face that dripped down his body, he told the Post.
'I thought I was going to die,' Williams recalled
Massive second and third-degree burns put him in the hospital for two months, blinded him in one eye and nearly blinded him in the other.
Williams believes the jealous boyfriend of a woman he was dating was behind the assault, the Post reports.
Much of his face is now gnarled and disfigured and he currently has a massive lump at the top of his skull where doctors have surgically implanted a rod that stretches his skin in order to promote healing.
He's undergone some 20 surgeries and still faces more 'life threatening surgeries.

Garissa University Attack Kenya military 'destroys' al-Shabab camps
By Unknown - Tuesday, April 07, 2015
Kenya Defence Forces spokesman David Obonyo said on Monday, that the mission was part of efforts to stop fighters from those camps carrying out cross-border raids into Kenya.
In the wake of the attacks which were carried out on Garissa University by Islamic fundamentalist group, al-Shabab, the Kenyan military has announced that it has destroyed 2 of the terrorist group's camps in Somalia.
Al Jazeera reports that jets pounded the camps in the Gedo region of Somalia on Sunday.
Kenya Defence Forces spokesman David Obonyo said on Monday, that the mission was part of efforts to stop fighters from those camps carrying out cross-border raids into Kenya.
While pointing out that cloud cover made it difficult to estimate the death toll, he however noted that the military's aerial images showed that the camps had been completely destroyed.
In a swift response however, al-Shabab's military operations spokesman, Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab debunked the claims and told the Reuters news agency that none of its camps were damaged in Sunday's raid, and that the fighter jets had instead struck farmland.
Last June, Kenyan fighter jets attacked 2 bases belonging to al-Shabab fighters in Somalia, killing at least 80 of them, according to African Union (AU) peacekeeping troops deployed there.
Terrorist group, al-Shabab has carried out a series of attacks on Kenya of what the group feels is the country's intervention. In 2013, it attacked Westgate Mall in Nairobi killing 67 people and last Thursday, armed men from the group raided the Garissa University College campus killing 148 people.

Story By- Uchechukwu Ukwueme-Duru
Students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT MINNA) are not happy over the condition of their union’s official vehicle. The vehicle has been abandoned for over two months by Students’ Union officials, reports UCHECHUKWU EKWUEME-DURU (400-Level Industrial Technology Education).
WhAT is the state of the official bus given to the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT MINNA) in Niger State? This is the question students are seeking an answer to from management.
The condition of the 2000 model Toyota Sienna is generating ripples, following an allegation that it has been in bad shape since the school resumed last year.
The bus, CAMPUSLIFE gathered, was donated to the union by Governor Aliyu Babangida Muazu three years ago, when the then union leaders had an accident with the 2002 Honda Civic official vehicle.
Students were prompted to ask questions when the union officials could not use the bus for functions on campus. The bus, students alleged, may have been in bad shape because of improper maintenance.
Some students claimed that the bus engine has been damaged by the carelessness of union leaders. Some alleged that the bus could not be repaired, adding that this may be why it was abandoned at the Students’ Union office.
“The current state of this 12-seater bus is not only discouraging, but also annoying,” a Chemistry student said, adding: “The car has been parked and abandoned for two months.”
When CAMPUSLIFE visited the union building to assess the condition of the vehicle, our reporter found dents on it. A patch of engine oil spread under the vehicle. Also, there was dirt underneath the bus, indicating that it may have been grounded for long. The upholstery was also covered with dirt.
Students criticised the union officials for poor maintenance, asking the SUG to repair the bus or face students’ wrath.
A SUG official, Justice Nwaigwe, a 400-Level-Physics student, told CAMPUSLIFE why the bus was abandoned for so long. “We have been explaining to students why the bus is left in the condition it is. We feel the pain more than the rest of our colleagues. We know it does not speak well about the union, especially under our leadership, but
