Police say an intoxicated driver was arrested after his pickup up truck slammed into a limo causing a crash that killed four woman and seriously injured two others on the eastern end of Long Island Saturday evening.cut in for more stories........
The crash happened around 6 p.m. in Cutchogue on the North Fork of Long Island.
The limo driver, and seven women who were part of a bachelorette party, were in the limo which had just left Vineyard 48 Winery, located on Route 48, CBS2’s Dave Carlin reported.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. in Cutchogue on the North Fork of Long Island.
The limo driver, and seven women who were part of a bachelorette party, were in the limo which had just left Vineyard 48 Winery, located on Route 48, CBS2’s Dave Carlin reported.
Officials told Carlin the limo left the winery and was heading eastbound on Route 48 when it attempted to make a U-turn westbound. The truck then apparently t-boned the limo.
3 woman died on impact and another woman died a short time later at Taconic Bay Hospital. All were bridesmaids.
The police chief said it was one of the worst accidents he has ever seen. The crash was so violent, it nearly cut the limo in half, Hall reported.
2 of the other women, including the bride, are in critical condition. The limo driver is expected to survive, officials told Carlin.
The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital for lacerations on his face. Police tell Hall the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated. His identity has not been released either.
Neighbor Diana was on the scene shortly after the crash.
“It’s so sad because I heard that the girls in the limousine may have been around for the bachelorette party so you know something like that happening .. It’s insane,” Diana said.

Father charged with abandoning 3-year-old daughter at a restaurant
By Unknown - Saturday, July 18, 2015
A man was arrested Sunday morning after leaving his 3-year-old daughter at a Subway restaurant in Harlem on Saturday night, police said.
Stanley Fredrique, 34, of Elmont, Long Island, has been charged with abandonment of a child, reckless endangerment and act in a manner injurious to a child.
The man and the toddler entered the restaurant around 11:30 p.m. The father bought the child a sandwich and then left, police said.
Police said the girl could tell them her name, Natalie, but not much else. cut in for more stories...
The man was being held at the 26th Precinct station house. As the father was being taken into custody, he protested his arrest.
“You guys not in my shoes, you guys don’t have no idea what’s going on,” Fredrique cried out.
Surviellance video shows Fredrique and his daughter happily walking toward the Subway shop where he bought the child a sandwich and left her there.
Rahman Mohammed, who was working at a fruit stand outside said he believes the father was drunk.
He said:
"The 3 year old said to her Dad ‘Daddy Daddy Daddy’ and the guy came back and talked to the girl, ‘little baby, oh go sit down, I’m come back,'” Mohammed said. “And that’s it, he left, ya, he left and didn’t come back again.”A good Samaritan at the restaurant then took her to a police station.
Fredrique was apparently intoxicated when he left the child at the restaurant, sources told Langford.
He told police he forgot her, and when he realized she was missing, he tried to report her missing to police, the sources said.
“We tried to ask her her last name, she couldn’t come up with her last name,” Detective Vincent Signoretti told Stern. “And before the good Samaritan walked her over to the local precinct, they tried walking around the neighborhood, and she couldn’t figure out where she lived either.”
Natalie, who was wearing a green dress with white polka dots and blue pants, was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, for evaluation, but has no injuries.
The girl has since been released into the custody of her mother. The mother refused to give a comment to reporters.

Department Of State Security Explain Why Sacked NSA Dasuki's Homes Were Searched.
By Unknown - Saturday, July 18, 2015
Well well well....Now we have been given a reason why his homes were searched!
PRESS RELEASE
PREVENTING ATTEMPTS TO COMMIT TREASONABLE FELONY: THE SEARCH ON THE RESIDENCE (S) OF MOHAMMED SAMBO DASUKI (COL RTD), IMMEDIATE PAST NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER (NSA)
Sacked NSA Dasuki |
Gentlemen of the Press, good evening.
2- On 16th July, 2015, about 1650 hours, based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.
3. The search operations was planned to be simultaneously conducted, but DASUKI, refused the operatives entry into his main residence located at No. 13 John Khadya Street, Asokoro, despite being presented with a genuine and duly signed search warrant. Consequently, what was to last not more than two (2) hours, lasted more than ten (10) hours, up till the early hours of 17th July, 2015. Indeed if not for the sense of maturity and professionalism of the officers and men assigned this task and the very good understanding and timely intervention of the new Chief of Army Staff, Tsukur Y. BURATAI (Maj Gen), there would have been a clash between the Army operatives guarding the house and Service operatives, as SAMBO directed the soldiers on duty not to allow any movement into his house, despite the subsisting court order.
SAMBO thereafter raised a false alarm to the military authorities to come to his aid as he failed to correctly tell the military that his property was about to be legitimately searched.
4. Gentlemen, please recall that SAMBO retired from the Army as a Colonel, and therefore not entitled to have military guards, if not for the fact he was NSA. Even as NSA, such guards should have been withdrawn after his removal as NSA since he would not have been entitled.
5. The search was thoroughly conducted, and several items recovered, among which were some incriminating items. These include seven (7) high caliber rifles, (high assault weapons), several magazines and military related gears.
6. The team also recovered twelve (12) new vehicles, out of which five (5) were bullet proofs. These vehicles which are all exotic vehicles were retrieved from SAMBO’s residence having failed to produce evidence of ownership. For instance, what could he be doing with five (5) bullet proof cars as a retired NSA?. These cars which from all available evidence were purchased with tax payers money, were being kept for possible sinister enterprise.
7. The Service would want to state categorically that this search operation is not a witch hunt. The Service decided to move at this time in line with current Management resolve to be proactive and pre-empt individuals with penchant for impunity and lawlessness from putting back the nation to the dark days. The Service is also aware that the lethal arms and the vehicles recovered were not reflected in SAMBO’s handover notes or what could a former NSA be doing with destructive weapons and bullet proof cars which put together could disrupt the peace of any city in Nigeria for a while.
8. On the search of his three (3) properties, including the Sokoto residence, the Service is aware that in his capacity and given his antecedents, he might decide to use any of his residences for such diabolical plans, rather than his main residence.
9. Gentlemen of the press, the Service Management would want to assure members of the public that it would not trample on the freedom of individuals or groups as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and emphasized by the current administration’s position on transparency, and probity underlined by justice and equity for all Nigerians. This is the driving force for all DSS operations. However, the Service would not hesitate to go after any person or group of persons, no matter how highly placed once such individual (s) breach or attempt to breach the laws of the Federation.
The days for impunity and indecisiveness in the face of unpatriotic acts by individuals operating against the State are over. The Service hereby appeal to all Nigerians to be law abiding and partner with it in ensuring a peaceful and secured nation. In the same vein, those that are bent on breaking the rules governing our peaceful co-existence due to either the huge ill gotten wealth they have acquired or imaginary hold they think they have on our nation’s survival, are being warned to rethink. The DSS will use all constitutional means as defined by its mandate to deal decisively with such unpatriotic individuals.
10. The Management wants to seize this opportunity to appreciate Nigerians for the tremendous acts of goodwill that is being extended to the new dispensation. The Management also wish to assure Nigerians that the gesture and confidence being expressed will be reciprocated with more dedication and service to our dear country Nigeria.
11. Happy Eid-el-Fitri to you and indeed, all Nigerians.
12. Thank you.

Despite the retinue of staff at the presidential villa waiting on the First Family, President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, still cooks his food.
She made this known on Saturday while hosting some children to an elaborate reception as part of activities marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitri.
At the party held inside the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President’s wife, after spending about two hours with the children, sought their permission to go and make dinner for her husband, who she said was alone at home.
“I’m going to leave you soon. I want to go back home to cook for my husband. Because my children are here playing with you, nobody is at home, only my husband. I want to go back home to be with him and also cook dinner for him,” she told the highly elated children.
Before her exit, she urged the children to be good ambassadors of their parents and the country. While saying that the future of the country is in the hands of children, Mrs. Buhari advised them to face their studies and be obedient to their parents.
The First Lady also admonished the children to continue to pray for other Nigerian children who are currently residing inside the different Internally Displaced Persons camps scattered all over the country because of acts of terrorism.
Telling them that the current administration attaches great importance to the welfare of children and would stop at nothing to ensure their protection and development, she said, “The future of this great country lies in your hands. You are to complement the efforts of government by working very hard in school and to be obedient to your parents.
“Tomorrow, you may be the President, the President’s wife, senators, honourable members, governors, medical doctors, teachers, journalists, engineers, nurses, lawyers and the rest of our honourable professions.”
The President’s wife also urged parents to encourage and monitor their children.
The party featured different games, dancing competition and fashion parade among others. Mrs. Buhari was accompanied by wives of some former governors.

Teenager who was raped in Abia state commits suicide (see her pic)
Culled from Sun News online
Chiawolam, who was among students who sat for the Junior Secondary School education (JSS) examination recently from Isieke Model Community High School, was reported to have dashed into the bush at the back of the family house with her mother’s head tie, climbed on top of a guava tree and hung herself two days after she was raped by the three beastly boys. The rape incident happened on Sunday, June 28, 2015, while she hung herself on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015.
Chiawolam’s father, Mr Umeh said that early in the morning that Tuesday, her mother called her to find out how she was raped and she complained that she was having pains all over her body. The mother told her to endure till they come back from the police station that morning, but unknown to them, the deceased had another plan.
“She took her jacket and what we later discovered was a scarf and left, warning that nobody should mention her name. We thought she was going to the toilet,” the distraught father said.
The members of Umeh family, who are natives of Amaeke Abam in Ohafia LGA, have been residing in Inyienyi village, where they acquired land and built a house.
A family source disclosed that Comfort had told her mother earlier that she would not be able to stay alive to behold the faces of those who defiled her, but the mother did not understand what she meant.
It was her deafening cry while struggling between life and death on top of the tree that drew people’s attention to the bush. They then rushed to the scene to discover that her tongue had already protruded out of her mouth showing that she had given up the ghost.
Comfort’s mother, Mrs Ekenna Umeh, a prophetess who runs a prayer ministry in her home said that the deceased would have clocked 15 years in October this year.
She said that her daughter did not like having any affair with boys as she swore that she would keep her virginity for her husband. She was said to have told her mother that she would complete her studies and start working before considering marrying. The deceased mother alleged that one Ndubuisi had been disturbing her daughter since they moved to the area in 2013, and had in her presence threatened to deal with her if she refused his amorous overtures.
Her words: “In my presence, I had asked my daughter and she told me that relationship is not her prob¬lem now until she is through with her education.
She hardly collects gifts from boys nor accepts free rides when coming back from school.”
Chiawolam was said to have gone to see her sister in a nearby village. On her way from the visit, the three boys allegedly abducted and took her into a nearby forest, where they have a cult house and shrine.
Explaining further, the mother told Sunday Sun “While this was going on, my daughter told me that she was still shouting, but nobody could come to her rescue. She said that immediately they got into the forest, near Inyienyi stream, one of the boys named Ndubuisi brought out a dagger and threatened to kill her if she refused to submit herself to them. Eventually, they over-pow¬ered her, tore off her skirt, blouse, pants, brassier and forcefully raped her in turns. She said that when they were doing all those things to her, she passed out, only to wake and see herself in the pool of her own blood.
It became difficult for her to stand up and walk out of the forest, as her head was turning and every area of her abdomen and private region was paining her. She said that she looked at herself to discover that blood filled the whole place like where a goat was slaughtered for sacrifice.”
Mrs, Umeh said she never imagined that her daughter would take her life. She called on the police and all relevant authorities to give her justice and ensure that her daughter did not die in vain by making those who pushed her to suicide pay for their sins.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Abia State, Mr Ezekiel Udeviotu, who confirmed the incident described it as unfortunate, stating that the police was doing all within its powers to arrest the culprits, who were said to have fled the community.Source: Sun
But Schwartz, a 38-year-old film-maker, has brown skin, curly hair and full lips. It was only when she was 18 that her mother admitted the truth: that she had had an affair with a friend and former colleague who was black. And that, in all likelihood, he was Lacey’s biological father.
The revelation not only shook her relationship with her mother to the core, but also led Schwartz to question everything she had believed about who she was, and eventually inspired her to make a documentary about the experience, called Little White Lie. After the cut......
“I started out wanting to make a film about being black and Jewish, because I was really struggling with my dual identity,” she says. “But I was living in a racial closet at the time that was all about my family secret. So I decided to use the film as a way to fully uncover the secret.”
When we meet, last month’s reports about Rachel Dolezal, the American civil rights campaigner who made headlines around the world by claiming that, despite being white, she “identifies as black”, are still to break. But Schwartz tells me she believes that racial identity is “fluid and contextual”.
“I think it can change depending on where you are and who you’re around,” she says. The film shows Schwartz and two black female friends discussing the “one drop rule”: the idea that if a person has even the smallest amount of black heritage, they are black. “Being bi-racial, mixed race, is a category of being black, not a category of being white,” Schwartz believes. “It’s an inclusive thing.”
We meet in New York’s SoHo on a sunny afternoon. Having spent most of her adult life in the city, Schwartz now lives in New Jersey with her lawyer husband, Antonio Delgado, and their 18-month-old twins.
Schwartz describes her own childhood, in the countryside near Woodstock in upstate New York, as “solid, comfortable, loving”. Her father, Robert, was an accountant, and her mother, Peggy, owned a wine shop.
Although Lacey was an only child, she was close to her numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. “I came from a long line of New York Jews, the great-granddaughter of Eastern European immigrants,” she says. “We went to the synagogue, bar mitzvahs, Hebrew school. My family knew who they were, and they defined who I was.”
Leafy, middle-class Woodstock was a liberal town but it was also very white. Schwartz has a vivid memory of being five and a little blond boy in her all-white kindergarten class asking her to show him the colour of her gums. “It was the first time I remember feeling different,” she recalls. “I already knew I didn’t look like the other kids at school, but it was embarrassing to be singled out, and it made me feel ugly.”
Afterwards, Schwartz asked her parents why she looked different, and her father showed her a picture of his great-grandfather, a brooding, Moorish-looking Sicilian, and told her that she must take after him.
And that, she says, simply became the accepted story. “You know how things are within families,” she shrugs. “You know what you know, and you reinforce that truth all the time. If you looked too closely at it, it didn’t make any sense. So we didn’t look at it.”
But others sometimes took a peek; new friends would often ask if she was adopted, while established friends silently accepted the story they’d been told. One old friend admits she “knew Lacey looked black, but that she wasn’t”.
A family friend refers to the issue as “the 600lb gorilla in the room”, which would occasionally beat its chest. Aged 11, Schwartz wrote in her diary that she wished she had lighter skin, and that she hated her curly hair.
When she was 13, a member of the synagogue told her that it was “so nice to have an Ethiopian Jew in our presence”. And at high school, “The black kids would stare at me and ask, 'What are you?’ I’d tell them I was white. But I was in denial too; I had my blinkers on.”
In Lacey’s mid-teens, Robert and Peggy’s marriage began to unravel.
“Their divorce was really hard; it completely shook my world,” Schwartz says. She believes that her mother’s affair was a factor in the break-up – although as she discovered while making the film, it wasn’t something her parents had ever openly discussed.
Her father, she later found out, suspected that something had happened but had only said so once, telling Peggy they should “put it behind them and move on” – he preferred to keep his blinkers on, too.
“I don’t think affairs are necessarily the cause of break-ups, they’re usually symptoms,” says Schwartz. “Relationships are complicated – why did my mother have an affair in the first place?”
Their divorce had a major impact on her. “My family had been this bubble, this supposedly perfect unit, so there was no incentive for me to question it. But when my parents split up, it made me question everything: who I was, what I had come from, who my parents were.”
She knew she wasn’t adopted: there were photographs of her mother pregnant and stories about her birth. “There are only so many other options. I definitely started questioning my paternity,” she says. She began to feel that there was something major her parents weren’t telling her, but had no idea how to talk to them about it.
When, at 16, she started dating her high-school boyfriend Matt, who was himself mixed race. People would ask if they were brother and sister, fuelling her doubts about her parents’ story.
“Matt would sit me down with my family photo albums and be like, 'Let’s talk about it,’” she recalls. “I told him my parents were splitting up, that I couldn’t deal with it just now. I think, deep down, I knew that there was a truth I wanted to find, but I wasn’t admitting it to myself.”
For Schwartz, the first big turning point was when she applied to Georgetown University in Washington, DC. On her application form, she left every box in the “ethnicity” section unchecked. “I’d only ever considered myself Caucasian; now, I wasn’t entirely sure any more. I didn’t know what to say, so I simply left it blank.”
However, she had submitted a photograph as part of the application, and on the basis of that, was admitted as a black student. It was an administrative “error” that Schwartz decided to run with. “The moment that Georgetown said, 'You’re black,’ they gave me the permission to start entertaining the idea of it myself,” she says.

Russell Brand says he'll move to Syria if someone buys him a first class ticket, people immediately start an online fundraising
By Unknown - Sunday, July 05, 2015
The self-styled revolutionary, 40, made the comment in a string of sick jokes about the Tunisian beach massacre, hours after denouncing Friday's minute of silence in the UK as 'total bulls***'.
Brand raged:
"There is no point in having a minute’s silence. It’s a minute of bull****. If you respect those people then demand that your government stops selling arms to countries on its own human rights abuse list."
He sparked outrage earlier in the week by blaming Seifeddine Rezgui's (The Tunisian beach murderer) murderous rampage on the UK Government and dismissing the tribute to the 38 victims as an 'empty, hollow gesture'.
And he decided to open his new standup show on Thursday by reading out a news story about his seven-minute YouTube, telling his 100-strong audience he was trying to be deliberately provocative.
Brand mocked people who had commented on his video during the show at The Proud Archivist in Hackney, London, and highlighted one message which suggested he should go and live in Syria.Hundreds have slammed his comments on social media, saying he was being disrespectful to the 38 tourists who lost their lives, including 30 Britons.
Zoë Kirk-Robinson said: 'As if Syria doesn't have enough problems, here comes Russell Brand!'
Graham Eden tweeted: 'I'm off to Syria'. After his election performance what could possibly go wrong!'
Adrian Owlett said: 'Bye bye and don't hurry back.'
Gavin Sutton said: 'And do please stay there.'
Brand highlighted reader StevHilsley’s message: "If he feels so strongly why does he not go and live in Syria and I would pay his fare for him. Anyone else contribute?"
A GoFundMe page has now been set up which aims to raise £1,000 for his one-way ticket.
It said:
'Is there any chance we can all put money in to send the tremendous c***womble that is Russell Brand to live in Syria, just because he has an ego the size of the sun and he annoys the absolute **** out off me and many others I'm guessing?
'Your help would be much appreciated. If he doesn't accept said ticket to leave, at least he know's he not wanted and it will be donated to a good cause.'

Tragic: Infant abandoned by parents after suffering horrific burns in incubator fire
By Unknown - Sunday, July 05, 2015
He suffered the burns aged just three days old when a medical lamp caught fire.
Matvey's parents left him in the care of medics after seeing the burns he suffered and never came back.
Medical staff at the maternity hospital of Tula in Tula Oblast, Russia, provided urgent treatment in the days following the accident in November last year.
Health experts say he will require expensive plastic surgery and a period of rehabilitation.
A hospital spokesman said: "The boy was inside a phototherapy machine when the machine's lamp caught in fire. Seventy per cent of the boy's body was burned. His internal organs were also damaged. Matvey was taken to a Moscow hospital for specialist treatment.
"The boy survived after many emergency surgeries and remains in the Moscow hospital. The boy is still in a serious condition in intensive care but seems to have an enormous desire to live despite his horrific injuries."
A fundraising drive was launched to raise money for Matvey's treatment and volunteers hope the Russian state will help him.
A fundraiser said:
"The baby doesn't give up. "He wants to live despite everything.
"Not many adults would be able to endure the suffering he has. He suffers and hopes for our help.
"Please do not stay indifferent. We wish for the baby to have treatment, because he deserves it."
