Nigerian sensation, Wizkid is making the news in Kenya for allegedly getting got into a fight with popular Tanzanian singer, Ali Kiba, after the latter got picked to perform first ahead of him at the Mombasa Rocks concert headlined by Chris Brown. According to Kenya.co.ke, the scuffle started after Ali Kiba insisted he would not perform first; the two acts reportedly fought over who was the biggest, who had the largest fan base.
Here’s what the media house said: “Ali Kiba is said to have insisted that he would not take to the stage before Wizkid, leading to a disagreement that reportedly delayed the arrival of American RnB singer and main performer of the night, Chris Brown.” Also confirming the clash is Nairobi News. “Kiba felt he is bigger in Kenya than Wizkid hence he could not understand why he was scheduled to perform before,” NairobiNews said. Wizkid lost the battle and Ali Kiba proceeded to perform right before Chris Brown (Seeing as the biggest masquerade comes out last). However this almost ruined Chris Brown’s event as the fight led to his own show being moved to later in the night that Saturday. But that’s not all. While Ali Kiba was on the stage, his microphone got disconnected, prompting him to end his performance midway. “I was surprised. I don’t know whether the microphone was disconnected for Chris Brown to be ushered in. I hope my fans understood that it was not my fault,” Ali Kiba says.

Gunmen believed to be Fulani herdsmen have killed more than 40 people in Godogodo village, a Christian settlement in the Jama’a Local Government Area in Nigeria’s northern state of Kaduna. The area, in the south of Kaduna State, has been attacked several times before. The gunmen were said to have attacked a military checkpoint in the area before invading the village. One survivor, Peter Atangi, told World Watch Monitor his four children were all killed. “The herdsmen came around 9pm on Saturday [15 Oct.]. They invaded our homes after they attacked a military checkpoint. They were armed with sophisticated guns, machetes, knives and sticks. As soon as they came, they started shooting indiscriminately and we started running in different directions. “They shot and killed my four children. As we ran for our dear lives, they also set our homes on fire. Many of us have been rendered homeless. We don’t know where to start….”
About 30 houses, including one used as a church, were said to have been burnt down by the rampaging herdsmen, while property worth millions of Nigerian naira (thousands of US dollars) were destroyed. A community leader, Joseph Adamu, said about 50 people, mostly women and children, sustained injuries from gunshots and machete cuts and were rushed to hospitals in the nearby cities of Jos, in Plateau State, and Akwanga in Nasarawa State. The incident led to the declaration of a 24-hour curfew in Jama’a, following increased tension and apprehension among people in the area. The Chairman of the Jama’a Local Government Council, Dr. Humble Katuka, said people should remain indoors until the situation is brought under control. Reacting to the frequent attacks on villages in Christian-dominated areas, the Secretary of the Northern Christian Association of Nigeria – responsible for the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory – blamed the state government for failing to stop the killing. “We are disheartened that despite the re-occurrence of the attack, the government has not come out with a security plan to stop it,” Rev. Danladi Yarima told World Watch Monitor in a telephone interview. “We expected that the government should have mobilised more security personnel to the area. Every day, Christians are being attacked and killed and their homes and property destroyed. The killings have continued unabated and we are very worried. We urge the government and well-meaning Nigerians to stop the killings,” he added. As a result of the ongoing violence, churches in the area have been closed, as many people have fled the communities. Attacks targeting the predominantly Christian communities in Jama’a area of Nigeria’s Kaduna state are recurrent. On 16 Aug., ten people were killed by Fulani herdsmen, just a month after another deadly attack which claimed, 11 lives in three villages in the same area. A total of more than 300, mainly Christians, have been killed in repeated attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the past five months, while over 5,000 people have been displaced, said Yarima. Also, the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), an umbrella body for ethnic minorities, condemned the killings and called on the Federal government to establish a permanent military presence in the area to prevent them. In a statement signed by its President, Solomon Musa, the organisation said security agencies must find out the perpetrators and bring them to justice. He added that seven communities in the area have been sacked by the herdsmen and their farms taken over for cattle grazing. Violence perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen has also led thousands to flee from the largely Christian areas of Kaduna, Benue and Taraba states in Nigeria’s farming belt. Such attacks have features long familiar to Nigerians: ethnic Fulani cattle herders, largely Muslim, moving in on farmers, largely Christian. The long-running land conflict is frequently framed in economic terms, but it also has distinctive religious contours. In the state of Benue alone, a study by Premium Times claims at least 1,269 lives have been lost since 2013 in such attacks. “This is another jihad like the one waged by Boko Haram in the north-east of the country,” according to Rev. Augustine Akpen Leva. “The attackers carry sophisticated weapons, sometimes they even used chemical weapons on our communities. They just come, often overnight when people are sleeping. They attack defenseless people and go away. They clearly have an agenda: to wipe out the Christian presence and take over the land.”
Ebonyi state Governor, David Umahi, has suspended the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ebonyi State University (EBSU) chapter, Prof. Ndubuisi Idenyi, his predecessor, Prof. Emeka Nwakpor, for alleged gross misconduct. The governor disclosed this on Wednesday in Abakaliki during a radio programme when asked about the ongoing ASUU strike in the university. According to the governor, both union leaders misinformed lecturers in the university on what transpired at the meeting they held with him on Monday over the strike.
“They politicalized the strike by misinforming the lecturers which is detrimental to the students. “I, however, urge the lecturers to immediately call off the strike, as we will adopt the ‘no work no pay’ if they refused to heed to my call,” he said. The governor also announced the termination of the appointment of the school Bursar, Chris Ngwuta, with immediate effect. “I took the decision to terminate the appointment because he was re-appointed without following due process. “He was reappointed for a second tenure by the school management without recourse to myself who is the university’s visitor and the state governor; contrary to the laws enacted by the State House of Assembly.

Scientists unveiled fossils Thursday from a new species of giant, long-necked dinosaur unearthed in northeast Australia, speculating that its ancestors had trekked across Antarctica some 105 million years ago. At least 14 metres (45 feet) from head-to-tail, Savannasaurus elliottorum was a plant-chomping, barrel-chested member of the sauropod group, which includes the largest land animals to ever have roamed the planet. The discovery, along with a specimen of another sauropod called Diamantinasaurus matildae, was detailed in the Nature journal Scientific Reports. Palaeontologists nicknamed the two dinos Wade and Matilda. Both species are thought to be unique to Australia. How and when these and other dinosaurs made it Down Under is a source of ongoing debate, and the new find is sure to add fuel to the fire.
Some experts say they arrived far earlier than the 80-million Cretaceous period, which ended with a cataclysmic bang some 66 million years ago. But the new find points to another scenario, said Stephen Poropat, a scientist at Uppsala University in Sweden and lead author of the study. “We suggest that our sauropods evolved from South American ancestors,” he told AFP. These would have crossed a land bridge onto Antarctica, skirted its edge, and then crossed another bridge to Australia. During most of the Cretaceous, Poropat said, the polar continent would have been too cold for these lumbering herbivores to have survived the trip. – A giant toe bone – But a window opened about 105 million years ago, earlier research has shown, warming the region enough to make a southern passage possible. “Antarctica was not frozen over, as far as we know, at any time” from 251 to 66 million years ago, he said in an email exchange. Indeed, fossil records show that the landmass today covered with a two-kilometre thick blanket of ice was then dense with forests. Because there was no ice on either pole, a spike in temperatures would not have lifted oceans — as is happening today — to erase land bridges on either side of Antarctica. S. elliottorum was named for Australian paleontologist David Elliot, co-founder of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum — which will house the new finds — and a co-author of the study. Elliott stumbled across bone fragments jutting up from the ground in 2005 while herding sheep near his home by the Winton geological formation, site of many earlier discoveries. “I was hoping it might be a meat-eating theropod dinosaur,” he recalled in a statement. But Elliott quickly realised it was something else when his wife Judith, also a scientist, clicked two pieces of bone together and held up a complete toe-bone from a leaf-eating sauropod. After a decade of work — painstakingly removing hard siltstone from a truckload of rock-encrusted bones — they revealed one of the most complete sauropod skeletons every found in Australia.
Acne is a common and chronic skin disease, it is an inflammatory condition of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles but it primarily affects teenagers undergoing hormonal changes. Symptons ; whiteheads, blackheads, small bumps, pimples, scars, nodules and cysts etc. Common sites for acne are the face, chest, shoulders, and back — the sites of oil glands.
Only three types of drugs have proven to be effective for the treatment of acne — antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, and retinoids. Most people require at least one or two agents, depending on the severity of their acne.
Benzoyl peroxide, available as an over-the-counter product (for example, Clearasil, Stridex) and by prescription (for example, Benoxyl, PanOxyl, Persagel), targets surface bacteria, which often aggravate acne. Irritation (dryness) is a common side effect.
Retinoids (vitamin A derivatives), for example, Differin, Retin-A, Tazorac, treat blackheads and whiteheads, the first lesions of acne. The most common side effect is irritation. While most are prescription only, there is an over-the-counter version of Differin now available.
Antibiotics , either topically applied to the skin (clindamycin, erythromycin), or taken orally (tetracycline and its derivatives, ethoprim-sulfamethoxazole) control surface bacteria and reduce inflammation in the skin. Antibiotics are more effective when combined with benzoyl peroxide or retinoids. The oral retinoid isotretinoin (Absorica, Amnesteem, Claravis, Myorisan and Zenatane) is reserved for people with severe (nodular or cystic) disease. Isotretinoin shrinks the size of oil glands, the anatomic origin of acne. Without active, plump oil glands, acne actively diminishes. Side effects can include dry skin, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, and birth defects. Women of childbearing age must practice birth control before, during, and after treatment (often a year) with isotretinoin. The use of isotretinoin requires rigorous testing (cholesterol, pregnancy) and follow-up for the prescribed period (5 or more months). It is reserved for the most severe types of acne that do not respond to other treatments.
Hormone therapy may be helpful for some women with acne, especially for those with signs and symptoms (irregular periods, thinning hair) of androgen (male hormone) excess. The hormone therapy consists of low-dose estrogen and progesterone (birth control pills) or anti-androgen medications (spironolactone).

DOWNLOAD FULL ALBUM: The Game – 1997 Out now, listen to The Game’s new album “1992.” The wait is over. After a slight setback & weeks of promotion, which included a couple leaks & a highly publicized beef with Philly rapper Meek Mill, The Game’s anticipated 1992 album has finally arrived on iTunes today. Serving as the follow up to this Summer’s Block Wars album, 1992 is an autobiographical effort inspired by the life, times & world the Game lived in when he was 12 years old coming into his teenage years in Compton, California. Even some of the song titles depict his childhood memories, including “I Grew Up On Wu-Tang” & “F*ck Orange Juice.” Lead by the previously heard singles “All Eyez” with Jeremih & “92 Bars,” fans can now stream the entire 13-song project for free via AJambaze Music (below). You already know this about to go dumb hard. Hit play and let us know what record you’re feelin’ the most?
