Real Madrid only need a point inMalaga this Sunday to win a first La Liga title since 2012. Los Blancos lead bitter rivals Barcelona by three points, but the Blaugrana have a superior head-to-head record, so the leaders must avoid defeat at La Rosaleda Stadium. As they so often do, Los Merengues will once again rely onCristiano Ronaldoto deliver in a big game. The prolific No. 7 scored twice to help Real win their crucial game in hand in Celta Vigo on Wednesday and will be the key man for the leaders. However, Real shouldn't count on having things easy in Malaga. The hosts are a capable side and have producedsome impressive results recently, including wins over Barca and UEFA Europa League semi-finalists Celta. Before a preview and a look at the team news, here are the schedule and viewing details:Date: Sunday, May 21

[M9 News] A 36-year-old former policeman, Charles Abam, has been arrested for trying to defraud the children of President Muhammadu Buhari.
A 36-year-old former policeman, Charles Abam, has been arrested for trying to defraud the children of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Punch reports that the suspect, who is currently being held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, impersonated Mrs. Daisy Danjuma, wife of Gen. T.Y. Danjuma, in order to defraud Buhari's children.
Mex9ja.com.ng gathered that the Delta state indigene sent an SMS to a prominent APC chieftain, demanding for the phone numbers of the president’s children.
The chieftain was said to have replied the SMS that she did not have the phone numbers of the president’s children but sent that of the elder brother of first Lady, Aisha, thinking she was communicating with Daisy Danjuma.
Abam went further to contact the first lady’s brother by SMS, asking for the phone numbers of the president’s children.
He eventually got the phone numbers of the president’s children, whom he sent messages, again impersonating Danjuma.
He went on to ask the children to present five names for a phantom job with the National Drug law enforcement Agency.
Charles Abam and his accomplice Felix Machi Members of the presidential family were said to have played along and sent some names and phone numbers to him. Eight names which were provided by the police, were sent to him and his accomplice, Felix Machi.
“The suspect then pretended to be officials of the NDLEA and called the phone numbers that had been sent to him. He asked them to pay a certain amount of money to a bank account, which would be payment for their kits during their training exercise. But no payment was made to the accounts,”the police source revealed.
he was tracked down through the details of his bank account which he told his supposed victims to pay into.
Regretting his action, Abam said after being jobless since 2003 when he lost his job as a policeman, he found out he could make a lot of money illegally from top Nigerians.
Abam left his police post in 2003 after being enticed by a chance to travel abroad. He said:“When I had an opportunity to travel out of the country I left my duty post and went on to process my documents, but I was defrauded and I lost all my money.“I went back to my police job but I was told that I had been declared a deserter.
I begged to be reinstated but was not taken back. I then began to look for work. I also applied for a bank security job but did not get it.
”Abam said he started his fraudulent activities in 2014 after his unsuccessful attempts to find a job.
He said:“I started with internet fraud but I was not making enough money. Then, I went into local fraud. One of my friends, known as Mike, taught me how to impersonate people in order to get phone numbers of prominent politicians.
I later met Felix (Machi), who became my partner. Before I attempted to defraud the president’s children, I had defrauded many politicians by pretending to be a kidney disease patient.“I told some politicians that I needed financial help for a kidney transplant and many of them sent money to me. I got N70,000 from a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Emeka Obinna, the Commissioner for Lands in Delta state and he gave me N50,000.“One Senator Ahmed Kamoni, gave me N150,000 while another member of the Anambra state House of Assembly, Obinna Uzor, gave me N50,000. I also got N50,000 from Senator Ahmed Yerima. Even the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejefor, gave me N100,000.“I also got N100,000 from the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Aniofor Udo and N5,500 from a former Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Daniel Abia.
”Abam said he gave 10 per cent of all the money he made from his kidney transplant fraud to Machi.
According to him, he only decided they needed to up their game recently when he brought up the idea of defrauding the first family to Machi.
He said he got the phone number of the APC chieftain from the APC chairman in Delta state, Prophet Enu, by impersonating the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Abam said:“Eventually, when I contacted the president’s children and they sent me the eight names, I realized the candidates were not cooperating. I knew something had gone wrong when I started receiving calls from people threatening to arrest me.“I decided to destroy my phones and sim cards. I thought there was no way I could be tracked without them. But I was surprised when the police showed up at my house on Saturday and arrested me.”The police authorities at the headquarters have said Abam and his accomplice would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the extent of their operation was complete.

Our patriarchal society nudges men into hyper-masculinity. “Men are not meant to cry.” “Men should always be strong.” Most times, men experience ridicule when they show “weakness”; ergo, they are reluctant to air those issues that negatively bother them. They do not want to openly talk about how they are maltreated in romantic relationships, how they are harassed by female bosses, how they are feeling sad from the pain of a love-affair turned sour, to mention a few.
What is worse is that some men do not believe men can be rape survivors. You tell them a teacher raped her fourteen-year-old student, and the next thing you hear is, “I wish I were that guy! See enjoyment!” On a normal day, men void their pain.
Why do they remember “men also suffer” any time, every time, women start venting about how we face abuse and violence?
#RIPKarabo recently set Twitterverse ablaze. A man had murdered his twenty-two-year-old girlfriend. The killer had “necklaced her and poured acid all over her body”. Very harrowing! This coincided with Mercy Aigbe speaking up on how she suffered domestic violence at the hands of her husband. Somehow, these two events set into motion a Twitter timeline replete with threads of how women suffer several shades of abuse from men.
This brings to mind the Twitter hashtag that trended late 2016, #MenAreScum. Most of us used this hashtag to narrate how we have been harassed in different ways by men we know and the ones we do not know. Before that hashtag, most of us had been silent about these issues. Alas! Covering yourself with layers of silence will not save you. We vented. We let it all out.
In the midst of these tweets, some people tried to justify (or should I say “pardon”?) men for being mean to women. Some tweeted, “What did you do to provoke him?” “When you know how someone is, you should not annoy the person.” Among these were the ones that embodied, “men also suffer.”
Of course, men also suffer.
2015. Evening. Interior of a bus
(Random man sitting by my side takes a large bite off the paw-paw he is holding. He hungrily chews on it. He turns to look at my friend drinking from a bottle of soft drink.)
Man: (Points at her drink) This one is better. It does not have sugar. The bitterness is good.
Me: I really do not know about how much sugar is in here, but eating fruit is better. I should have gotten a fruit just that I can’t wash it until I get home.
Man: Home. (Countenance changes) I don’t like going home. My wife is terrible.
And that was how this man opened up to tell my friend and I about how his home had become hell. Truly, four walls do not make a home. He was bitter. There I was wondering why anyone would want to treat another human being in such a cruel manner.
I will not pretend men do not suffer abuse. A friend, who used to be my lecturer, told me he was “assaulted” by an older woman. He did not even want to say “rape”. Another recently told me his first sexual experience was via rape. There are men, who have wives that cheat on them emotionally, too. I could go on and on about how men suffer.
Men also suffer; however, can men not talk about how they also suffer when women are talking about how they suffer? All that “suffer”!
Talking about how “men also suffer” when women come out to talk about their experience is tantamount to saying, “Will you keep quiet? Men also feel the same pains you feel.”
Women come out, air their issues, build conversations around these issues, and suddenly, some men that nullify abuse against men come forth to say, “men also suffer”. They say (or type) this banality with such aplomb and one is tempted to slap the words back into their mouths.
To be honest, I am beyond shocked when I see this. I begin to wonder when and how they got the epiphany of men being victims of abuse.
Many questions swirl in my mind: Why this moment? Why did they not cry about their pain before this moment women decided to speak up? Why are they desperately trying so hard to shift the focus of the conversation? Wasn’t the aim of the conversation for women to express themselves? Why the sudden awareness of men being victims of abuse? Why are they just seeing this “light”?
Patriarchy-enforced male ego won’t let most men talk about how they suffer; however, when women get expressive about their experiences, they tag along with, “men, too”.
This nonsense has to stop!
Men should let go of toxic hypermasculinity and start having their own conversations. They do not have to wait for women before they start venting. There is no use keeping quiet.
In the grand scheme of things, this patriarchal system of society puts men at a disadvantage. It makes them keep shut in the face of pain and discomfort.
Men also suffer, yea, but they do not have to cry about it the same time women come out to vent. Doing that seems as though they are desperate to brush away the dark smear of pain on our collective psyche.
P.S. Do you know that the average hetero guy gets pissed when women call out men on their BS? They be like, “You’re generalising”. We are generalising, yet they are the ones most protective of their sisters and daughters. They are probably scared other men would treat their daughters the same way they have treated other people’s daughter.
To be honest, a lot of us, women, are tired of the BS heterosexual men throw at us. We are tired!
“The truth is girls hate us, Eric. They are sick of our shit. One day, they plan to make us obsolete – stick us underground where they just milk us for our semen. Boys’ only hope is to start over on Mars.” – Butters, “South Park” Season 20, Episode Nine.
