Plateau State is not a revenge ground- Plateau Youth Council Says
A CALL TO REASON - Plateau is not a revenge ground.
The Plateau State Youth Council expresses with rude shock the chaos and eventual disruption of calm in Katako axis of Jos metropolis which had threatened to escalate to other parts of Jos and Bukuru yesterday.
This acts of course is perpetrated by disgruntled elements who have no idea what we have been through these years.
As a people, we need to understand that there is a cost of war that cannot be be calculated in economic terms. Unless one is living in an area affected by arm conflicts, it is difficult to understand the cost of war and yet appreciate the price of peace.
The aftermath of the Biafra war has left a scar in the history of our dear country and only those who were around and are still alive can better tell the story. Those who survived paid the price for peace.
It is with pain, yet a deep sense of responsibility that we appeal to the youths and the entire public to shun any act capable of causing mayhem.
We condemn in strong terms what happened yesterday in Katako axis and this should not be allowed to happen even in our wildest imaginations.
We state emphatically that Plateau State is not a revenge ground as hard and harsh as this may sound. What happened yesterday just goes to show we have got people with evil intentions amidst of us, who are also determined to bring confusion and unrest.
We call on the great peace loving youths and the good people of Plateau State, to display the strength of our collective will to deal with their evil, and make our society a better place to be.
The swift response of the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong is highly commended. This is an expression of leadership, character and responsibility. We the youths are in support of the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Jos and Bukuru metropolis to curb further tensions.
We appreciate all security agencies that quelled the tension and restored law and order in the troubled spots.
We are calling on members of both the Igbo and Hausa communities in Jos and Bukuru metropolis to help the State Government to fish out the perpetrators of these acts and criminal elements in their midst and assure one another of their safety.
We are appealing to the media to help in deescalating the tension through their reportage and ensure that they are conflict sensitive in reporting this and other issues relating to conflict.
We are once again in support of the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure Nigeria is one and also we stand with all security agencies in working to ensure law and order is maintain while encouraging them to shun any black mail in course of their work.
We also thank the mature and peaceful response of the The Jama'atu Nasril Islam under the able and vibrant leadership of His Royal Highness the Emir of Wase Alhaji Muhammadu Gambo II and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad II and all Northern governors for the reassuring response and promise to protect our brothers and sisters from the south-east. He join our voices to ensure that that their safety is guaranteed.
We are appealing to Governors in the south-east to ensure the safety of all Ethnic Groups within their state and support the Federal Government in restoring law and order in the region.
Finally, I call on the youths to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security agencies, as security is our collective responsibility. We must stop the trend of being willing tools in the hands of desperate citizens and terrorist. We should shun propaganda and the spreading of hate speeches.
God bless Plateau State Youth Council,

God bless Nigeria.

Shun acts capable of disrupting our hard earned peace- Jama'atu Nasir Islam appeals
PRESS RELEASE
APPEAL FOR CALM
The Jama'atu Nasril Islam Plateau State Chapter wishes to appeal to the Muslim Ummah and the general public in the State to shun acts capable of disrupting our hard earned peace in the State. The events of this evening in Jos which caused panic around some parts of the metropolis, which were clearly in response to the unfortunate events in the South East, are unacceptable. JNI finds it necessary and of utmost importance to remind us that we in Plateau state had just in the last few years emerged from a decade long ethno religious conflict which left us with unbearable socio economic and political consequences. The sad saga of disruption of peace and lawlessness in some parts of the country is not worth our response except in the exhibition of mature and civil way, trusting that appropriate authorities are capable of responding as the situation warrants.
We should therefore cherish our peaceful Co existence and do all within our power to sustain it, regardless of the provocation as peace is priceless.
We reiterate our call on governments at all levels to ensure the protection of lives and properties of all citizens wherever they may be lawfully residing.
We shall not relent on our commitment to peace and appeal for it at all times.
In conclusion we restate our unflinching support to the government of plateau state under Governor Simon Bako Lalong in its effort to maintain the peace and avert any breakdown of law and order, thereby assuring citizens of the much needed peace and security which is desirable for the well being of all.
We commend the swift response of the Plateau state government to impose dusk to dawn curfew in the Greater Jos and Bukuru metropolis. This action will surely endure prompt restoration of calm and peace not only in Jos but the state at large.
We should know that this is a political problem and government seem to be on top of it. We should therefore avoid giving it any sort of religious coloration.

Kaduna State Alawee: WHICH WAY?
I am a serving corp member in Kaduna, a beautiful state where the serene environment is overwhelming, but irrespective of the beautiful environment, the pockets are crying, and now i wish to emphasise on the no state allowance, with this little piece.
I am a voice that wish to speak up, for the interest of all other corp members serving in Kaduna state.
During our Passing out parade(POP) from camp, I stand to be corrected, I can recall that His Excellency, Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai, Kaduna state Governor promised to make our service year memorable, as he promised to pay us Kaduna state allowance which was stopped when he became the Incumbent Governor of the state.
From a reliable source the following states are paying their corp member a stipulated amount after their service year, while some pay monthly.these state includes:
Ondo state is paying N60k at the end of the service year
Lagos state is paying state 10k state allowance
Anambra state is paying N8500 every month
Enugu is paying N5000 every month
Osun state is paying N5000 every month
Bayelsa is paying N3000/ 5000 at the end of service year
Akwaibom is paying N5000 every month
Ogun state is paying N5000 every month
Delta state is paying N5000 every month
So far the Kaduna state has been conducive for corpers, following his promises during the same POP in camp, all thanks to the able Governor Mallam Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai. But we have been living on 19,800 stipend from the FG, every month which has not been easy in an expensive state like kaduna.
We beseech the Governor to come out and address the corp members in his state if he would fufil his promise and pay us what is due to us as no news has been heard so far about the state allowance, as our passing out is in October.
We appeal that the governor help us out, as we have relentless served our purposes in our different Primary Places of Assignment, following the fact that we have not been able to save from our 19800, considering the country recession period, we will like to fall back on something, and start up a business for ourselves, as to get a job in the country now after service is quite on the run.
Please we in a appealng tone we seek for a feedback from his Excellency.
