JTE Gist: I Didn't Mean To Disrespect M.I, I'm His Fan – Ycee
Tinny Entertainment signee, YCEE has opened up on the incident that led to M.I warning him against putting up disrespectful comments about Chocolate City on social media.
The incident happened a while ago, after YCEE endorsed an article that praised the man-handling of Tinny Entertainment while questioning the operations of Chocolate City executives in managing the careers of their signee.
M.I took offence with the publishers of the article and YCEE and it became a major topic in the entertainment world, with some speculations suggesting that the two artistes are at loggerheads. However, YCEE has revealed in a recent interview with HipTV that he meant no disrespect to M.I and that he only endorsed the article because of the facts about Tinny Entertainment it contained.
YCEE further said he doesn’t want to been seen as the artistes that disrespects the veterans in the industry.
JTE Gist: “Money Is More Important Than Talent In The Music Industry, It Will Take You Places ” – Niniola
Afro-house singer Niniola, has giving a piece of advice to the up and coming artistes as she said the music industry is beyond the facade that talent alone can guarantee a successful career.
The ‘Sicker’ singer, who released her sophomore album earlier than expected, said this during a recent media tour in the UK. In a chat with Factory78, the singer said thriving in the music industry requires money more than talent and that upcoming acts need to invest in their career.
Niniola said;
In 2013 I went for a competition and I became the third runner-up and I got my prize money. With the prize money I invested in my career. I sought out one of the best producer Sarz and told him I wanted a hit song and that’s when I met my manager.
“When you’re not in the music industry on the outside, you think talent would take you places but it’s not. My manager told me ‘you need funds to promote and print CD jackets’.
“It’s a very capital intensive industry and so as an upcoming artiste you have to leave everything aside and invest in your career because at the end of the day it’s for you and you reap what you have sowed,” she said. “Growing up in Lagos was fun. I come from a large family, I had cousins and relatives living in the house. We were up to about 30 or 40 living in the house at the time and obviously we couldn’t make our foods ourselves so we had cooks.
It was like the Fuji house of commotion. “I listened to my parents records like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Nigerian music. And that way I didn’t know I was training my voice by mimicking the voices that I heard. Niniola said she wasn’t one to write songs, much less her own.
She said;
If anyone had told me ten years ago that I would be writing my own songs I’d be like ‘it’s a lie’ because I always told myself ‘you can’t write anything’. A little confidence boost from prolific producer Cobahms Asuquo, after being berated by other producers, was all she needed to push herself to write her own songs.
On her musical aspirations, the singer said; “I would like to open for Beyonce”. When asked about what it is like being a female artiste, the singer said; I’m very proud of every female artiste in Nigeria because it is not an easy feat to be a female artiste but I’d like for us to continue with love. On what inspired her album, ‘This is Me‘, she said: It is Niniola basically saying this is me, this is who I am.
This is what I can do. I can jump on any track- dance tracks, I can sing ballads and do whatever I want with my voice.
BILLY GRAHAM SET TO MARK 99th BIRTHDAY; SON FRANKLIN GIVES UPDATE ON HEALTH
"Nov. 7 will be a big milestone for my father as he turns 99 and enters his 100th year. As a family, we are just so very grateful that he is still with us. His mind is good but he's quieter these days. He can't see or hear well, but his health is stable," Franklin Graham said Wednesday.
"On his birthday, some family will be with him and we'll give him his favorite cake — a lemon cake with lard icing. He loves those cakes — but it has to have the lard icing," he added.
"At the Billy Graham Library we'll have a special celebration that day, as this year is also the 10th anniversary of the opening of the library. We'll have birthday cake for everyone who comes by."
Franklin Graham explained that as his father enters his 100th year, the BGEA will be marking the major moments from his eight decades of ministry.
"The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is moving strong into the future, but it's also important to celebrate the past, so each month we will focus on a particular decade and highlight significant things like his 16-week evangelistic crusade in New York City, his impact on worldwide evangelism and personal testimonies of people whose lives were forever changed at one of my father's crusades," he said.
"During this next year we'll have special content on billygraham.org and in Decision magazine, so be sure to check those out. My father always wants the focus to be on the Lord Jesus Christ, and not on him; and so we will point to the amazing ways God has worked in lives around the world, through the ministry of Billy Graham."
The evangelist noted that his father is grateful for all the prayers and birthday wishes he has been receiving.
Franklin Graham, who is president of both the BGEA and Samaritan's Purse, has been sharing updates and reflections about his 98-year-old father on Facebook as well.
In a post in October, he revealed that his father has one Bible verse in particular that he still has displayed in large letters around his house.
"Still today, my father Billy Graham has a Bible verse pinned up on the wall in his bedroom, printed in VERY large letters. In fact, it's in the dining room, his bathroom, and several other spots around the house! Back before his 95th birthday, he was working on a sermon based on this key Scripture. It was his passion to memorize it, to saturate his heart and mind with it. He made it his life verse," Franklin Graham said at the time.

Nigerian mother of 4 bags 10 years in prison for drug trafficking
While urging the court to convict and sentence Owolabi, the prosecutor, Ibrahim Abu, reviewed the fact of the case, tendered the convict’s harmonised Ecowas passport, an e-ticket and boarding pass as evidence. Other evidence tendered before the court include three written statements of the convict, two request of scientific aid form, a drug analysing report, two evidence pouches, two transparent pouches containing the drug, two scientific report of the drug, and a sealed brown envelope, which were admitted as exhibits.
The convict’s lawyer, Morenike Ogunleye, pleaded: “The convict is a first time offender, and she is sober. She is a mother of four children, who is single-handedly taking care of them, as she has separated from her husband.” The judge asked the prosecutor, Ibrahim, for the punishment for the crime committed as stipulated by the NDLEA Act, and the prosecutor said it is life imprisonment.
Justice Aikawa ruled: “I have listened to the plea made on her behalf by the counsel, and also listened to the prosecutor that she has no record of crime. I have to consider both her plea and what the law says about the crime. “Consequently, I hereby sentence her to 10 years imprisonment, starting from the day of her arrest,” which was in May 19 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, during outward clearance of Qatar Airways flight to Saudi Arabia, with 330 grammes of cocaine.
