Mike Okonkwo, TREM
Dr. Mike Okonkwo MFR the Presiding Bishop of TREM was born on September 6, 1945 to the family of Pa and Ma Okonkwo of Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He started his primary education at Salvation Army Primary School Enugu, but later moved to Ijero Baptist Primary School in Ebute Metta, Lagos.
He, however, completed his primary education at St. Marks Primary School, Offa in Kwara State. He started his secondary education at Mayflower College, Ikenne and completed it at Merchants of Light Grammar School, Oba Anambra State in 1963.
During the war, he underwent the military training but had no opportunity to practice what he had learnt because the war ended the very night he was deployed to the warfront. After the war, he continued with his banking career at the Ogbete road branch of ACB where he was a pioneer staff.
After receiving a call from God into full time ministry, he was consecrated the Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) on the 7th of May 1988. He has clocked 28 years as the head of the ministry.
Bishop David Oyedepo, Winners Chapel
Born September 27, 1954, in Osogbo, present day Osun Stata, Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, Nigeria was raised in a mixed religious family. His father, Ibrahim, was a Muslim healer. His mother, Dorcas, was a member of the Eternal Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (C&S), a branch of the Aladura movement in Nigeria.
He was raised by his grandmother in Osogbo, who introduced him to the virtues of Christian life via early morning prayers which she attended with him. She also taught him the importance of tithing.
Oyedepo got born again in 1969, through the influence of his teacher, Betty Lasher, who took special interest in him during his high school days. He studied Architecture at the former Kwara State Polytechnic, now Kwara State University and worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin before resigning to concentrate on missionary work. Oyedepo received a Ph.D. in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United States.
Oyedepo claimed to have received a mandate from God through an 18-hour vision in May 1981, to liberate the world from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith.
This is the inaugural vision that led to the founding of the Living Faith Church World Wide (LFCWW), first called Liberation Faith Hour Ministries, in 1981. Two years later, on September 17, 1983, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, former General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, ordained him and his wife, Florence Abiola Akano (known now as Faith Abiola Oyedepo) to become pastors and officially commissioned the new church.
There were insinuations few years ago that Oyedepo was planning for his retirement following his decision to redeploy his son, David Oyedepo Junior from London to pastor Cannaland, the headquarters of his church. By September this year, he would be 34 years as the presiding bishop of the ministry.
William Folorunsho Kumuyi, Deeper Life
Pastor William Folorunsho Ikumuyiwa, otherwise known as W.F Kumuyi was a former Anglican who joined the Apostolic Faith Church after his baptism. In 1975, he was expelled from the church for preaching without credentials. He continued his independent ministry, which in 1982 became the Deeper Life Bible Church. By the early 1980s that small group had grown to several thousand, at which time Deeper Life Bible Church was formally established.
The church has spread throughout sub-Saharan Africa and then to the United Kingdom, from where branches were developed in western Europe, Russia, India, and North America. Already, the soft-spoken preacher has spent 35 years as leader of the church.
Dr. Obiora Ezekiel, Christian Pentecostal Mission International
He is the general overseer of Christian Pentecostal Mission International, with headquarters in Lagos Nigeria.
Dr. Ezekiel, though visually impaired is a called evangelist, a pastor and a teacher of the word.
He has preached the gospel of Christ for about 30 years with record of miracles, signs and wonders following his ministry.
CPM Int’l was founded by Rev. Dr. O. Ezekiel (The General Overseer) and Rev Dr (Mrs) Mercy Ezekiel over 30 years ago. Both have been leading the ministry ever since.
Sam Adeyemi, Day Star
Pastor Sam Adeyemi is a Nigerian pastor, multivational speaker with special focus on positioning people for success and leadership qualities.
He is the founder of Daystar Christian center, president of Success Power International. Born on February 3rd 1967, a native of Yagba in Kogi state of Nigeria.
Pastor Sam Adeyemi personify the saying that behind every success and achievements lies plenty stories to tell.
Daystar Christian center was on November 18, 1995 inaugurated at 4th floor of Eko Chinese hotel on Allen Avenue, Ikeja Lagos. For over 23 years, he has been in charge of the ministry.
Tunde Bakare, The Latter Rain Assembly
Pastor Bakare attended All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta and subsequently Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, after which he studied law at the University of Lagos between 1977 and 1980. He was called to the Bar in 1981 and following his NYSC, he practiced law with Gani Fawehinmi Chambers, Rotimi Williams & Co and Burke & Co, Solicitors. He established his own law firm Tunde Bakare & Co (El-Shaddai Chambers) in October 1984.
In May 1988, at the peak of his legal career he was called into ministry and he founded The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church) on 1 April 1989 and is currently the Serving Overseer of the church for 28 years now.
Daniel K Olukoya, Mountain of Fire and Miracles
He established Mountain of Fire and Miracles in 1989 (27 years ago). Pastor D.K. Olukoya founded the Mountain of Fire Ministries in July 1989 in his sitting room with only 25 people in attendance. Today the church has had a massive growth and expansion with thousands of members and branches spread all over Nigeria and Europe and Africa. Pastor Olukoya has written many spiritual books and composed over 70 Christian songs.
Taiwo Odukoya, Fountain Of Life Church
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya is the senior pastor of the Fountain Of Life Church, Lagos, Nigeria – a church with a membership in excess of 8,000.
He holds a degree in petroleum engineering and worked for 12 years with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) until his voluntary retirement in 1994 (23 years) to concentrate on the ministry god had committed to him.
