When do Nigerian entertainers go as far as South-Africa to shoot mediocre videos, is it because of their weather over there or the choice locations, only the directors can tell.
Why go that far to shoot a video that will obviously lack the true essence of the song when you can stay over here , get your full crew to rub minds and get full quality for your high budget video.

Are our artistes not tired of financing the industry in South African? Thinking out of the box is something many African artistes and directors lack and the video to “Gift” by Iyanya featuring Don Jazzy isn’t any different.
Shot in locations far away South Africa, the video had almost the same settings as PSquare’s “Collabo” video which also features Don Jazzy with the same board meeting, good guy looks and playful Don Jazzy yet again, don’t you think Nigerians deserve better than repeated concepts, beautiful models and Iyanya dancing like a bed-side refrigerator with the I-Robot virus?
Only God knows when our entertainers will start portraying the truth meaning of their songs like our western colleagues. With all the sexual references in the audio to the excitement of a lot people, the video shows Don Jazzy sitting in front of a stack of wrapped presents because the name of the song is titled “Gift”, isn’t that the most witty concept a human can think of?
The director should be flogged big time. Seeing Iyanya teach Don Jazzy how to dance was a beautiful sight to behold but is that why we wanted to see the video? That shouldn’t have taken a lot seconds of the video.
With all glits, glamour and lightning effects in the video, Iyanya should have just stayed home in Nigeria and gotten the same quality but he decided to be yet another mediocre by taking his video to the shores of another country.
With all the frivolity in the video, it is a good 1.5 star over 5 because Don Jazzy was in it.
