PETITION TO GOVERNOR SIMON BAKO LALONG ABOUT THE RECENT JOS CARNIVAL BY CONCERNED ENTERTAINERS ON THE PLATEAU.
Got this from a Group and i decided to Share.....
Your Excellency, we salute your efforts at trying to Make Sure Plateau State regain it's lost glory as the Hub of Entertainment and the breeding ground for Entertainers.Testament to that fact is the influx of Artistes,Footballers,Entertainers and celebrities to the State for one Event or the other,Indeed Peace has crept back into the Home of Peace & Tourism.
However,We will like to draw your attention to the Just-concluded Jos Carnival.
Your Excellency,Entertainers on the Plateau were sidelined, disrespected and completely neglected by those in-charge of organising the Carnival.
Upon investigation, we found out that the Carnival organisation and planning was given to a Reverend Father who inturn entrusted it in the hands of some of his Church members who are novice in the art of entertainment and events planning and are not conversant with the Terrain of Entertainment on the Plateau as they are non-indigenes.in as much as we are not ethnic or tribal bigots as we are hospitable people on the Plateau,we have to empower our own entertainers to succeed.
The organisation was poor and Shady little wonder they kept even you our dear Governor waiting for a concert that was billed for 3pm but started at about 6:30 and subsequently made our dear Governor not to attend the concert.
About 10 A-list artistes were contracted from Lagos with huge amount of Money, which is laudable as a way of letting the world know Peace has returned to Jos, but it is sad that various talented Jos based artiste were treated unjustly without even a honororium or thank you for coming performance fee which is condemnable as the A-list artiste will take their monies to add to Lagos economy while the Jos artiste are left with nothing or just crumbs to scramble for.
It is pathetic that the umbrella union of all entertainers (The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria- PMAN) was neglected by the secretariat of the Jos Carnival in Planning for these event, even some members of the committee from the Ministry of culture and Tourism lamented about the non-chalant attitude of the front-runners of the carnival.
OUR DEMANDS
1.An unreserved Apology from the secretariat of Jos Carnival to all Plateau Entertainers.
2.That the Governor mandate the organisers to make PMAN an integral part of the Jos Carnival Committee for the next event.
3.That 50% of artistes to be used for the Jos Carnival should be Jos based artistes and they shoud be paid their professional fees meritoriously.
4.We demand a breakdown of all expenses on the Just concluded Jos carnival by the organisers.
Your Excellency,we know you are a listening Governor and part of your Rescue mission is to empower the Plateau Youths, we solicit that a quick action is taken on this petitition as Plateau Entertainers can not be Slaves in their own State. We are partners in progress to the development of the Socio-Economic status of the State. We appreciate you as an Entertaining Governor that Plateau has ever had and we know Justice will be done.

The Portuguese forward has explained why he put a finger to his lips after scoring his first goal in a Champions League win over Bayern Munich Cristiano Ronaldo has called on Real Madrid fans to stop whistling him at the Santiago Bernabeu following his match-winning display against Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo hit a hat-trick on Tuesday toadd to the double he scored in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, his goals helping to seal a 4-2 win in the Spanish capital and a 6-3 triumph on aggregate.
Ronaldo celebrated his first goal – a thumping header from a Casemiro cross – by putting a finger to his lips and turning towards the stands.
Ronaldo and the refs see Madrid through The Portugal captain had been the subject of jeers during a frustrating opening hour of the match and he has urged those fans to treat him better.
"I just ask that they don't whistle me," he told Antena 3. "I always give my best, I work and I help Real Madrid. I didn't tell them to be quiet – never.
"But I take the positive things. The team was good, we played well and obviously I'm happy with the goals."
Nigerian man pleads guilty to hacking into computers, scamming $6.5M from U.S. companies
A 31-year-old Nigeria man on Monday, April 17, admitted in federal court Monday his participation in a scheme to hack into computers and email accounts, and steal roughly $6.5 million from American companies last year.
Obinna Obioha pleaded guilty to wire fraud and now faces 20 years in prison.
"As part of his guilty plea, Obioha admitted that, while in Nigeria, he worked with others to hack into computers and email accounts used by dozens of victims in the United States and around the world," U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Vadim D. Thomas, special agent in charge of the Albany field office of the FBI, announced in a news release.
"After monitoring victims' information to identify imminent commercial transactions, Obioha and his associates created knockoff email addresses that appeared similar to -- but varied slightly from -- victims' legitimate email addresses," the statement said.
"Obioha and his associates then used those bogus email accounts to send fraudulent invoices to victims, instructing them to wire funds to bank accounts controlled by Obioha and his associates, under the pretense that the wires were payments for actual deals that had been previously negotiated by the victims," federal prosecutors said.
Obioha admitted he was involved in at least 50 wire transfers between January 2016 and September 2016. During that time, about $6.5 million went to bank accounts that Obioha and his associates controlled.
"The accounts received money from fraud victims in New York, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas, among other places," federal prosecutors said in the release.
Obioha was arrested Oct. 6, after he flew from Lagos, Nigeria, to JFK International Airport. He has been in custody since then.
Obioha faces up to 20 years in prison, a maximum $250,000 fine and the possibility of being ordered to pay restitution. U.S. District Judge David N. Hurd is scheduled to sentence Obioha July 26.
"Foreign criminal enterprises prey upon American businesses and are using increasingly sophisticated means to do so, as demonstrated by this scheme," Hartunian said after Obioha pleaded guilty.
"Obioha's apprehension and conviction is a reminder that foreign nationals targeting American businesses cannot operate with impunity and that the reach of U.S. law enforcement agencies is global." he added.

Vardy scored in vain as Leicester City's Champions League fairytale came to a valiant end following a 1-1 quarterfinal draw at home to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.Seeking to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit, Leicester fell further behind to Saul Niguez's first-half header, before Vardy's 61st-minute strike gave them hope. But despite heavy Leicester pressure andfurious noise inside the King Power Stadium, Atletico completed a 2-1 aggregate win to reach the semifinals for the third time in four seasons."We had them rattled with the effort and commitment we showed. It's no discreditto lose to a team of that calibre," Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare told BT Sport."The whole club, from the supporters to the players to the owners can be immensely proud, but I've just said to the players that they should want more of this and they've agreed that that's what they want."Leicester had hoped to become the competition's first debutant semifinalists since Villarreal in 2006, butthey were unable to engineer a repeat of their last-16 triumph against Sevilla.Their exit brings to an end a golden adventure sparked by last season's stunning Premier League title win.Having successfully staved off the threat of relegation under new manager Craig Shakespeare, the rest of their season now holds nothing more than a return to pre-title normality. It is the third time Atletico have eliminated Leicester from continental competition, after previous triumphs in the 1961-62 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 1997-98 Uefa Cup.Beaten by city foes Real Madrid in the 2014 and 2016 finals, Diego Simeone's side can continue to dream that this will be the year they finally end their wait for European football's biggest prize."I'm full of emotion and pride at the performance of my team," said Simeone."I also have to say, what a great performance from our opponents. It was almost a pleasure to compete against them."
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a controversial hat-trick to become the first man to reach 100 Champions League goals as Real Madrid overcame 10-man Bayern Munich 4-2 after extra time in Tuesday'sthrilling quarterfinal second leg.The holders surged through 6-3 on aggregate at an exhilarated Santiago Bernabeu to take their place in Friday's semifinal draw for a record seventh consecutive year. But Real were pushed all the way by Bayern, who battled back from a 2-1 first-leg deficit to send the tie into extra time thanks to Robert Lewandowski's penalty and an own goal from Sergio Ramos. However, after Arturo Vidal was sent off, Ronaldo hit the century mark in Europe's top club competition on 104 minutes andcompleted his hat-trick five minutes later.Bayern were left incensed, though, as Ronaldo's second and third goals were clearly offside."To score six goals against a team like Bayern Munich isn't easy so we deservedto go through," the Portuguese striker told Spanish TV station Antena 3."Real Madrid is Real Madrid, we are used to suffering and we are happy to be in thesemis once again."Marco Asensio gave a night of high-class action the finale it deserved with a sensational solo goal to rub salt in Bayern wounds."The (red) card for Arturo wasn't a card and then the two goals from Cristiano areoffside so clearly we are not happy," said Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti."In a quarterfinal you have to put a betterreferee, or it is the moment to introduce video refereeing, which is what Uefa are trying because there are too many errors."The German champions had been beatenon their previous four trips to Spain without even scoring a goal. However, knowing they needed at least two to progress, Ancelotti's men started on the front foot and were left to rue a huge opportunity just eight minutes in.Marcelo made a miraculous block to deny Thiago Alcantara before former Realwinger Arjen Robben scuffed into the side-netting on his trusted left foot.Much like the first leg, Madrid weathered the early storm and had plenty of chances to go in front before half time.Jerome Boateng bailed out a rare mistakefrom goalkeeper Manuel Neuer as he cleared off the line from Ramos after Neuer fumbled a simple cross. The halftime whistle brought some respite to proceedings on the field, although the Bayern fans were involved ina minor clash with police at the break.QUICK-FIREThe disturbances quickly died down and Bayern soon gave the travelling 4 000 from Germany something to cheer when play resumed.Another goal-line clearance by Marcelo from Robben's dinked effort temporarily saved Madrid. But the hosts didn't escape moments later when referee Viktor Kassai pointed to the spot as Robben went down under achallenge from Casemiro.Lewandowski stayed cool under the pressure and converted from the spot for his 39th goal of the season.Ronaldo looked to have eased Madrid's nerves when he steered Casemiro's crossinto the far corner 14 minutes from time. However, Real's celebrations were very short-lived as just a minute later the ballricocheted around their box and Ramos turned into his own net.The balance of a topsy-turvy tie turned Madrid's way again with five minutes remaining as just as in the first leg, Bayern were reduced to 10 men when Vidal saw a second yellow card for chopping down Asensio. The extra man proved decisive as Madrid settled the tie with a three-goal burst either side of half time in extra time.Ronaldo took advantage at not being flagged for offside as he controlled and fired low past Neuer to become the first man to reach a Champions League century.Four minutes into the second period of extra time he had Marcelo to thank for a brilliant run and unselfish pass that allowed the Portuguese the simplest of finishes to complete his hat-trick despite again being in an offside position. And Asensio sealed victory in sensationalstyle with a stunning solo run and low right-footed finish as many Bayern players sank to their knees knowing Champions League glory had passed them by for another year.
We live in an era where a bag of rice you bought for N12, 000 skyrockets to N16, 000 the next. Your Landlord tells you that rent has increased by a whopping 50% due to dollar rates. Even school fees become triple of what they used to be. Trust me, the list goes on and on. Since nothing is left out in this time of change, who doesn’t need a side hustle?
Did I hear you say no one? You are so correct!
Every Nigerian, scratch that, almost every average Nigerian, needs an extra source of income to successfully cope with the ever rising standard of living in our dear Nigeria.
While some entrepreneurs are able to take the bull by the horn by quitting their 9-5 to focus on their businesses, many cannot make that daring decision yet for different reasons: house rent,
Car naintenance, children school fees etc. I mean, we still need the steady monthly income (no matter how little) that come with many 9-5s to take care of these needs.
The latter set of people go slower, bit by bit, slowly developing their passion into a business, while maintaining their current jobs. These are the correct side hustlers!
Today almost everyone has something they are pursuing on the side, it could be freelance writing, consulting, photography, graphic design, modeling, or even being an Uber driver.
Yes, side hustles are great, but just like everything else, it requires a lot to successfully handle. My point is that, balancing your full-time career with an outside gig can stretch you to your limit; if care is not taken you could burnout and lose the main job and side hustle as well.
Whatever your side hustle and regular job may be, there are important things you need to know and focus so that you don’t end up a failure at both.
State your Business Vision Clearly
Before even trying to find a balance, it is really important that you know your side hustle’s vision. It would be an absolute waste of time if you focus on something you have no vision for.
Why are you going into it? Is it something you want to make money doing? Is it something you want to turn into a full time job? What exactly are you trying to accomplish with your side hustle? What key activities do you need to accomplish to make your side hustle happen?
You may not have a 5 or 10 year plan crafted out yet, but a real understanding of what you are doing, and why you are doing it, is needed!
Get Ready to WORK
Let’s face it, a 9-5 on its own can be draining and time consuming, so adding a side hustle would make it even tougher.
You now have less time for yourself and now more than ever. You will feel that all you do is wake up, work, sleep, and repeat; there is really not enough hours in the day to do anything else, including having fun with friends.
So before you jump on the side hustle wagon, it’s really important it’s important to know that this will add one more heaping serving to your already full plate. Be ready to work longer and harder, it’s not called a side hustle for nothing.
Set Boundaries and Stick to them
Let’s be real, your 9-5 should always be your major concern while in the official environment and during official hours. It would be very unfair to your employer to mix these two, to the detriment of your regular job.
I know it’s very easy for one to slip into another, but you need to be able to stick to the boundaries you created in order to truly achieve a balance.
DO NOT complete side hustle-related projects, answer emails, or take phone calls during your normal working hours.
In the same vein, know your side hustle time, and the time set aside for relaxation and socializing.
Remember, it’s not easy balancing a 9-5 with a side hustle, but you know what, it’s something you can do!
Are you currently balancing a side hustle with your full-time job? How do you make it work?
