Industry Nite Stars honour late Dagrin at weekly music event

As the skies opened and rain fell, the industry honoured the man who made indigenous rap popular.
Last night witnessed a turn out like no other at Industry Nite held at Spice Route, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event was the fifth year anniversary of Dagrin's death. The large turnout of fans who wanted to pay homage to the late 'Akogun' started a few minutes past ten o'clock in the night, as hundreds of people stood outside the gate of Spice Route.
It was obvious that this was going to be no ordinary show.
A few minutes past midnight, and Spice Route was already filled to capacity. Last night's turnout was definitely the largest Industry Nite has seen in a while. Cut in for more...
Guests who came to support the legacy and memory of Dagrin where YQ, Tee Blaq, Olamide, Phyno, Lord of Ajasa, Sossick, Jaywon, Ruggedman, Lil Kesh, CDQ, Baseone, and others. Dagrin's father was also present too.
DJ Spinall had one of his best performances ever at Spice Route. For approximately 30 minutes, the celebrity deejay played Dagrin's classic songs, and popular Nigerian songs that rocked the airwaves circa 2008. He also put songs from Lil Kesh, Olamide and Phyno into the mix. His set proved why he is one of the best in Nigeria.
After his mix tribute, came the performances. Acts such as Baseone, Jaywon, and CDQ gave tribute to the man known as Barack O' Grin with their performances.
YQ, who was a close friend of Dagrin performed his 2009 single 'E Fi Mi Le' which featured Dagrin. He also performed songs in his honour.
Next up, was Sossick the producer who worked majorly on Dagrin's ground breaking sophomore album C.E.O. He performed the revered songs off the best selling album.
The night was rounded up by the performance of the progenitor of Yoruba rap Lord of Ajasa. As the skies opened and rain fell, the industry honoured the man who made indigenous rap popular.
