Xenophobic Attacks- 8 Nigerians want to return home – Ambassador

Nigeria’s Consul General in South Africa, Uche Ajulu-Okeke has said that eight Nigerians have indicated interest in returning home following a spate of xenophobic attacks in SA.

She said further that Nigerian mission was already working with the citizens to facilitate their journey back home.
“I am working with eight Nigerians who have indicated interest to go home. They are presently at the deportation holding facility at Limbola, South Africa,” Ajulu-Okeke said.
“They narrated how they were attacked and brought pictures. We took note of all that. The mission asked all the provincial chairmen of the union to collate all information reported,” she added.

The recent xenophobic attacks in parts of SA have left at least seven people dead and many more displaced.
